We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Rellihan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Victoria, how does your business help the community?
Fit and Sweet was born from a personal need. In 2016 after fighting severe eating problems that compromised my health and a significant hormonal imbalance that at the time made me gain 17 kg uncontrollably, As a result of this problem and after many visits to doctors, different studies and many diets that put my health at risk, I started exploring a new world, a healthier world. I learned to eat, to change my habits, to give my body everything it needed to function well and I learned that Food is really medicine to prevent diseases, there is no better investment than investing in your health.
Today, I feel that it is my mission to share healthy habits, to inform the world that you can really eat delicious and healthy, and the thousands of benefits that a good diet brings, such as sleeping better, having more energy, being in a better mood, and a lot more.
There is a lot of misinformation regarding food and I feel that my company with our different healthy options (sugar free, gluten free, organic ingredients, low carb, keto and vegan options) and through my history, my experience and now my certification in health coach, can help many people who suffer or suffered problems similar to mine or simply help society by informing and sharing this million benefit in food that can make people live better.
Thus promoting well-being, and the big impact you can have with incorporation of real foods on a daily basis. Our mission is to demonstrate that changing our habits improves our quality of life.
Along with our healthy products, we also created the fit and sweet club for clients who want to participate in different wellness activities that we organize once a month in Miami in different spots, we had a yoga and sound healing class at Faena miami beach, dancing in St. Regis Bal Harbour, a bolly dance experience at W hotel, Yoga classes in design district, and much more.
Currently, with how longevity has spread, it is very important to take care of our body, which is our transport until the end of our days, and to travel each day in the best possible way.
In conclusion, Fit and sweet is born with the objective of sharing healthy habits, promoting wellness and helping incorporate real food in our day to day. we want to show the world that eating healthy and delicious is possible and that food is the main medicine to prevent diseases and improvise quality life.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have a degree in Marketing, I had many jobs in a dependency relationship but I always knew that my thing was to undertake and that the great project for my life was about to arrive. Before fit and sweet, I had two businesses, an event organization company (which we had to close due to the pandemic) and prior to that, a very fashionable hat business with my best friend. I believe that everything comes when it has to come. Before fit and sweet I worked in a bank.
Undertaking is not easy, it requires a lot of learning on the go, many mistakes and successes, moments of great joy and illusion and others of great fear, taking risks and uncertainties, but when one carries out a project that one is passionate about, and trusts one and in his idea, everything is worth it.
I found in fit and sweet the job of my dreams that on the one hand contains my story, a part of my story that started out negative with a health problem but that I was able to transform into something positive like today is my company with my experience, which In turn, it fills me up because it adds value to society, transmits and shares healthy habits, the most important thing of all: our health. Without health we dont have anything.
I have challenges every day in every decision I make, but as I said before, I trust in my project and in the enormous value it has for the world, how important and fulfilling it is for me to be able to work with such passion, with goals as important as Help people and contribute what I can from my place, not only with my experience, but with my Health coach certification, being able to accompany whoever needs it in the process of changing their habits, to healthier habits. Each person is different, and as I always say, what works for one person does not have to work for the other, within the world of health, everyone has to find their own balance to be able to maintain those habits over time.
I want the world to know that FIT AND SWEET is a brand that promotes health, that it is transparent in terms of the ingredients in each meal, and our differential value is that we are truly healthy, that we prepare our dishes every day with great dedication. , effort and love, and we want to help a better world, without so many diseases and with a better quality of life for everyone.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Miami, I think it has the perfect combination of the beach, good food, shopping, all kinds of activities and the best weather. If I had to put together an itinerary for my best friend, it would be to go have some Avocado Toast for breakfast some nice place, it could be the St.Regis in Bal Halbour with an ocean view or have lunch at Setai overlooking the beach.
I would spend the day at the beach (soho house surely) or any beach, they are all beautiful.
At night, I would love for her to meet some fun restaurant like Sexy Fish in brickell, or one of my favorite restaurants is COTE japanese steak house.
I would love to take her to a yoga or meditation class on the beach, there is an itinerary with many free options to participate on the beach.
On Sunday I would take her to Mila’s brunch which I love (and it has millions of options, many include healthy and delicious dishes) and then some shopping like Bal Harbor shops which has the most beautiful clothing stores or Miami design district too.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First of all, I have to say a huge thank you to my grandmother. Fit and Sweet was born in the midst of a pandemic, I had moved into her house due to the quarantine and her kitchen was the first plant for the production of fit and sweet until it began to grow and we moved. SHe always encouraged me and pushed me to follow my dream, and she was my great example. She was a great entrepreneur and one of the hardest working people I’ve ever met, I admire her and her motivation and confidence was very important to me to always move forward, keep going with this beautiful project that today is my whole life, my passion. .
On the other hand, another huge thanks to my boyfriend and my best friends who always trusted me, they always gave me energy in my hardest moments and encourage me to never give up.
This last year in Miami, which was a great challenge for me on a personal and work level, they were always encouraging me at every step I took.
I think it is really important when starting a business, to have a circle of people who surround you, who support you, love you, and trust you.
One of my favorite books that has a lot of influence on my life decisions is by Robin Sharma, The Saint, the surfer and the CEO, I never tire of reading it from time to time and I think it has a lot to do with the path one wants to take for his life. In my case, starting my own business.
