Meet A Star | The Magikal Arts & Creative Direction and Production

We had the good fortune of connecting with A Star and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi A Star, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued a Career in the arts because I feel like I have a personal calling to do so , I have great ideas and creative thinking skills and I feel as tho my ideas or more correctly the ideas I’m lucky enough to come into contact with need and want to be shared with the world. Most of my life I have desired to be a creative but because of my upbringing and society I was told that being creative or pursuing a career in the Arts is a waste of time and you would never achieve those individuals definition of success. Until I was basically living independent of my family I was not truly able to feel free to explore my own identity outside of societies projections onto me and what I am and who I am supposed to be.

What should our readers know about your business?
Today I am a practicing diviner and mage for hire , I practice mostly Astrological Magik and use Tarot as my main divinatory tool . Outside of those I also am a practitioner of Geomancy , Rune Casting , Birth chart assessments , Astrological Predictions and many more. Ive always been interested in the occult studies and the ways that the world works outside of the traditional monotheistic world view that America shares today, and though my curiosity I found something that is not only full of truth and resonates with me but a career path as well in giving reading and assistance to anyone in need of a transcendental cure of any kind !

My Artistic Practice consists of Music and Painting primarily , my painting career has consisted of many local and diverse shows , solo shows at Sun Fest , and in New Orleans and many group shows here in West Palm in Down town Clematis the Out Back Gallery and more. My paintings consist of Abstract shapes and forms with flowing minimal compositions and dynamic full colors, resembling a photograph of a lava lamp and have been compared to Georgia O’keeffe. My Music however has gone though many Stylistic Changes , from Neo Goth to Ambient to Fantasy Storytelling the through line for all my work has always been inner exploration and the development of the self.

The practice of occult studies directly relates to my Art and creativity in a direct way . I view Art and Magik or Mysticism , as words that describe different things but that the things they describe to be almost the same . A song is a spell , a painting a portal , a spell a song , and a video an alternate reality ! When I’m doing a reading for someone I’m mostly reading and listening and then intuitively responding to that feed back , and to me the same could be said for my Art I’m listening and reading the way the piece is speaking to me and my goal is to communicate that idea or concept to the best of my ability.

I got my start doing reading with and for friends and over time I built up opportunities and had allot of people who have believed in me enough to allow me to a reading for them. At a previous job where I was Manager of 925 Gemz a metaphysical store located in west palm beach I provided situational assistance to those who were seeking transcendental cures to something that would have been amiss in there lives as well as providing astrological readings then also . As I continued and left that job I still kept on my kept on my studies and practice and today I do readings and provide these metaphysical cures for people and readings !

If there is one thing that I would like the world to know about my brand and story it would be that , you are A Star ! And not in a Hollywood sense in that you are a artist or figure that is worthy of being worshiped for the things that you do , not that definition at all. I would like to contribute a narrative that goes like this , before you were who you are today you were something else . Many different cultures and religions have different views on what this is , but one thing that the majority of them have in common is that you existed before now and your always have . And its important to remember that you are not your body ! You are not your emotions , your rights or wrongs , your appearance , your social status or even your hight ! What you are is perfect , you are a perfect star just the way your are now and that no matter your circumstances that its ok to be yourself , your truest self that you have always been and always will be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If someone was to visit my area we would start the day off at Common Grounds Coffee in Down Town Lake Worth, then after that we would walk Across the Street to The Dancing Elephant , a Metaphysical Book Store located across the street. Maybe the next day we would go to the Boynton Beach Inlet Park and relax and read our new books for an hour and watch the sunrise , maybe do some meditation and go for a swim. We would have to go have a night out on Down Town Clematis and maybe grab some food at Kabuki a favorite restaurant of mine serving Thai food within walking distance from the water. On a Friday I would take them to the Norton Museum of art and look at some works of art. Go to Smarty Plants a Botanical Store that sells exotic plants galore and then finnish it all of with a trip to wold thrift a semi famous local thrift store.

I would like to dedicate my shoutout to a couple of people but first I would like to thank Scott Jeffries for providing me with not only this opportunity to be featured but also for the mentorship and all of the outside opportunities that he has provided to me and experiences in life as not only a mentor but a true friend, I am deeply grateful . I would also like to thank my partner in life and love Skye Rose for being my rock being my partner in crime ,inspiring me to be more my self and to live and enjoy life everyday . I would like to thank my Mother for giving me life, and for all that she has taught me about living life the right way I love you mom.
