We had the good fortune of connecting with Sean Collier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
If you were to ask me, 10 years ago: Sean, where do you see your future?
I would tell you I am an actor headed for the big screen!
Ask me today I’ll give you the same answer! The only difference is my mental, physical and emotional growth. I still have the goal of being on the big screen, as request of my father, but there are many things we can do along the way! The past 10 years I have become a certified trainer, experienced massage therapist, started a business(Sean’s Qi-Gong), ran a staffing company catering to 8 bars/restaurants, opened a restaurant, became a liquor rep and still made sure I grew as an actor. This quickly turned into directing as my father once told me, “If opportunity doesn’t present itself, create it.” I opened Collier Films in 2012 debuting with a music video. Since, we have advertised for dealerships, real estate, alcohol brands and made 2 thrilling films.
Yes yes yes, the challenges I’ve faced through these years have been almost unbearable! With each step comes another hurdle. Many times I went on a break from doing, one from the strenuous work, and also from the constant rejection. It is hard to accept the things that can’t change, even harder to continue on a path where “No” comes before “Hello”. It comes down to what it is you want for yourself. Why are you doing what you’re doing? And the most important question of all, do you believe in yourself?
You can count on me to believe in you and your abilities to make it, whichever way and however you want, just as I believe in myself. I promise you, you can do it..but YOU have to do it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Miami is full of excitement, art, personalities and drama! Day and night! I love when friends of mine visit because I get to show them another side of life. Of course a trip to our local farmers market to get our day started, followed by breakfast and a nice bike ride around South Beach to explore architecture and marine life. Speaking of, the beach would take up a good chunk of our days. Warm, clear water and a bright sun can turn any frown upside down. The art district of Wynwood is a definite to explore art in ways most have never seen. As far as nightlife is concerned, I will take you to small business owners who have dedicated themselves into opening, running and bringing joy into their restaurants/bars. One of which, Swizzle Rum Bar & Drinkery, has given me the incredible experience to grow with them from their opening naming me their matire’d. Then we can dance the night away at Mangoes!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I will always, always shoutout my family. Along with having FOE(family over everything) tattooed on my arm, I live with a mindset molded by their own “success”. My mother, a current teacher who started daycare when I was born, has overcome so many obstacles and has taught me, successfully, how to properly love & care for one another.
My sister & niece, strong independent women have been on a beautiful path of growth and love, show me their success daily just by the smiles on their faces!
A brothers bond is like no other. Fortunately for me, I have a brother who is driven by himself and the satisfaction of helping literally everyone! His level of success of incredible, to say at the least. I’ve been alongside him through many lessons whether business or personal and the growth is exponential!
My father, who I give majority of my credit to, has paved a way for his sons and daughters to understand there is no limit to your potential, as there is no limit to your success. At his mid 80’s, he is still the most influential person in my life pushing, not only me, but himself to the next level and listening to our stories with joy.
These people have given me understanding, patience and a love so deep for my life that I ultimately have no choice but to be..successful!
