We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Douglas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I just wanted to be successful by doing what I love to do, that drives me to this very day.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I don’t think too much about differentiating from others but at the same time I’m inspired by others’ work.

I don’t have a proper gauge for that realistically I just shoot anything and everything I find optically interesting and appealing.

I’m nowhere near close to where I wanna be but I’m able to charge people a decent price for shoots which is way further than I used to be.

It wasn’t easy at first because I fell in the trap early of comparing myself to others which always had derailed me.

I just accepted the fact that it takes bad work to improve and have great work evolve from those mistakes.

I’ve just learned to just keep shooting and that’s all I’ve been doing since.

I just love taking pictures it’s nothing crazy but it’s a special bond between myself and my camera(s). Each shot is different and creates a different vibe.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
All of my close friends know I’m not too much of an outside guy until it’s time to be spontaneous and get out. I’m not a BORING guy but they know what it is haha. Definitely getting some beef patties at Charlie’s Bakery, going to a cool beach with a secluded sector or go to a car show or maybe even go play basketball. Go somewhere in Miami or Tampa later that night (depending where I am.) Ha I’m very broad when it comes to these things so if it’s not a film shop, car show/garage, race, basketball involved then I’m really just shooting, trying to shoot, working, or at the crib.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My friends Kendric (IG @kendric.d_) & Dominic (IG @olivertwisss) immensely because they’re in the field as well so they know the game and it gets hard at times but they’ve inspired me the most and have given me the most encouragement throughout this game
