We had the good fortune of connecting with Nayla Benitez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nayla, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk-taking has played a huge role in my life and now my career. I took a risk when last. In November I decided to quit my job of 7 years as a Managing Broker with a fixed income and benefits to go back to selling real estate. My husband also has his own business so being the one person that had a steady income coming in and letting go of that to pursue my passion was not an easy decision. I understood the risk and weighed the benefits and decided this is what I wanted in my life and made a plan that minimized somewhat the risk and moved forward knowing that failure was not an option.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The first thing you need to know about me is that I am very persistent and I love a challenge. When I was offered the possibility of becoming the Managing Broker for one of the biggest Brokerages in the United States I could not say no to the opportunity. At the time with very little experience I took on the challenge of managing one of the company’s offices in Miami. Having been in a management role in a prior job, I knew what it took to be a leader and manage an office. What I did not know was how the job would evolve into so many different functions. Managing a real estate office requires the ability to lead a team, motivate employees, and foster a positive work environment. Strong communication skills are also crucial for interacting with agents, employees, and clients. This job gave me the ability to see the real estate business from another perspective. I was able to grow the office and help agents take their business to the next level, it was one of the most rewarding jobs I have had. I always knew that I would eventually return to selling real estate, it’s what I loved. When the opportunity came along, I took it and went back to selling. Understanding it would not be easy to get back into the groove of things after 7 years, I put into play everything I had thought my agents and in less than 6 months I have created a team, created a brand, a marketing plan and a soon to be launched lead-generating website. We have already surpassed our 6 month goal and on track to make the Chairman’s Club by the end of the year. I am beyond excited.

The InMiami Group consists of three professional women, myself included, who share a common motto: “Elevating real estate beyond mere transactions.” As a service-oriented team, we possess comprehensive expertise in all facets of the real estate industry. Our primary focus is prioritizing the needs of our customers and treating their investments with the utmost care as if they were our own. Our goal is to transform the perception of realtors by consistently delivering exceptional value throughout the entire process.

At the end of the day, all you need is to believe in yourself, have a plan, work hard, execute the plan, and believe that you can and you will.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start with Miami Beach- First two days it would be all about our beaches, take them to The Fountain Blue Hotel for a day of pool / spa and beach. At night a nice dinner at The Bazaar by Jose Andres or Juvia. I would take them for a day on the water and book a boat for a few hours and after stop at Seaspice for a nice meal. I would squeeze in a shopping day at Bal Harbour or Aventura Mall. I would take a day to explore Coconut Grove, and visit historic landmarks like The Barnacle and Viscaya Museum and Gardens. While in Coconut Grove I would invite them to a game of Pickleball in the neighborhood pickleball court next to the Firestation, the players are always coming to new comers. I would take another day to explore Coral Gables, the shops along Miracle Mile, stop by Crema Gourmet for a great brunch, and visit The Biltmore Hotel for a nice lunch by the pool. If time allowed I would take a drive down to the Keys and get some of the best seafood around.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband and my friends. My husband was the first person to tell me it was ok to follow my passion and that no matter what he had my back. My friends also played an important role in my decision, we are a tight group and they all encouraged me to take the leap knowing how hard that decision would be and everything that was riding on it. Their support meant everything. As a matter of fact, one of my friends gave me her family’s house to sell, which helped make my transition easier, I am forever grateful to the Castagna Family
