Hi Shontelle, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
During the past four years, my focus and priority have been on raising my child and being there for their important milestones. I made the decision to leave my corporate job because I wanted to prioritize my family and not be away from home constantly, flying Monday through Friday.

As time went on, I realized that I still had a strong drive and ambition to pursue my professional goals while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Starting my own business and becoming a realtor, seemed like the perfect solution to align my personal and professional aspirations.

The thought process behind starting my own business stemmed from a desire to have more control over my schedule and the flexibility to manage both my family responsibilities and professional pursuits effectively. By running my own business, I can create a work environment that accommodates my needs as a mother, allowing me to be present for my child while also utilizing my skills and expertise in a meaningful way.

Additionally, starting my own business provides me with a sense of empowerment and the opportunity to shape my career path on my own terms. I am motivated to build something of my own, to take ownership of my success, and to create a legacy for my family.

Overall, the decision to start my own business was driven by my desire to prioritize my family, maintain a healthy work-life balance, and fulfill my professional ambitions in a way that aligns with my values and circumstances as a dedicated mother.

As a professional in the real estate industry, I firmly believe that real estate decisions can be complex and overwhelming. That’s why I strive to provide a personalized approach for each person I work with, coupled with a genuine enthusiasm for my business. I am committed to delivering a superior level of service and ensuring that my clients have the best real estate experience possible.

Before obtaining my real estate license, I had the privilege of working as a Corporate Executive for a Fortune 500 company in the retail industry. It was during my time in retail that I realized the importance of unwavering dedication to client service, which resonates strongly in the real estate field as well. I learned how to build meaningful relationships, connect with clients and colleagues, and be readily available with the necessary resources and guidance. These skills have proven invaluable in mastering the many moving parts of any real estate transaction.

Moreover, my tech-savvy mindset and passion for social media marketing further enhance my abilities. I leverage technology to streamline transactions and effectively reach a wider audience. With a comprehensive understanding of the crucial details involved in real estate, coupled with my proficiency in utilizing technology, I am confident in my ability to tackle any transaction with efficiency and effectiveness.

It hasn’t always been an easy journey to reach where I am today professionally. However, I have faced challenges head-on and overcome them through resilience, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to personal growth. Each obstacle I encountered became a valuable learning opportunity, shaping me into the resourceful and knowledgeable professional I am today.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting the area, I would make sure to show them a fantastic week filled with memorable experiences. Since I live in the west of Broward County and have a deep appreciation for supporting local businesses, I would prioritize exploring the diverse culinary scene in the area.

To start off, I would take my friend to Jollof Pot, a hidden gem that offers delicious West African cuisine. We would savor the flavors of authentic jollof rice, suya, and other mouthwatering dishes.

Next, I would suggest visiting Coconut Fusion Cafe, where we could enjoy refreshing smoothies, flavorful Caribbean-inspired dishes, and delectable desserts. The vibrant and tropical ambiance would make for a delightful dining experience.

For a taste of authentic Jamaican cuisine, Aunt I’s Restaurant would be a must-visit. We would indulge in their flavorful jerk chicken, savory oxtail, and traditional Jamaican patties. The vibrant atmosphere and warm hospitality would transport us to the heart of Jamaica.

To add some Southern flair to our culinary adventure, we would make a stop at The Licking restaurant. Known for its mouthwatering soul food and flavorful Miami-style cuisine, we would savor their famous fried catfish, savory barbecue ribs, and other delicious dishes that offer a delightful mix of flavors.

Lastly, I would recommend trying some of the local food trucks and small eateries that offer unique and diverse culinary experiences. From tasty tacos at the local taco truck to homemade ice cream at the neighborhood ice cream parlor, we would explore the vibrant food scene and indulge in the flavors that the area has to offer.

In addition to the culinary delights, I would also plan a visit to some local attractions. We could spend a relaxing day at one of the beautiful parks in the area, such as Markham Park or Tree Tops Park, where we could hike, have a picnic, or simply enjoy the natural surroundings.

If we’re in the mood for some shopping and entertainment, Sawgrass Mills Mall would be an excellent choice. It’s one of the largest outlet malls in the country and offers a vast selection of stores, restaurants, and entertainment options.

To experience the vibrant cultural scene, we could attend a live performance at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts or catch a show at the Hard Rock Live. These venues host a variety of concerts, theater productions, and other artistic performances.

Overall, my aim would be to showcase the rich diversity of the area and immerse my friend in the local flavors, sights, and experiences that make Broward County special.

Absolutely!
