We had the good fortune of connecting with Yavi Reyes and Hugo Quizhpi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yavi Reyes and Hugo Quizhpi, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Together we (Yavi and Hugo) combined our passion for visual storytelling with photos and films. Hugo’s poetry writing skills and Yavi’s background as a fashion designer was the ideal blend to create a company’s whose heart and soul is the visual arts. Our commitment has always been to create visuals that resonate and can stand the test off time for all off our clients.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Media Poets is a combination of Yavi and Hugo’s passion for writing which led them to establish a media production company to help businesses and individuals expand their brand’s vision with great storytelling. We are an Emmy/Telly award winning company focused on creating captivating visuals that promotes our clients vision. We’re still in the journey and have been blessed to receive recognition for our work.
What we’ve learned along the way is that communication and teamwork does make the dream work.
We’re a family run business. We pour our passion and commitment into every project, big or small.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The best place to get to know Miami would have to be South Beach, Collins Avenue. Stay at the Faena’s small hotel which hosts an artfully, storytelling decor. Checkout some of the local musicians in the scene, drink mojitos and dance.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our family for their support as we pursue our passion for the visual arts.
