Meet Jazzmen Johns | Co-Owner of Snapper Mike’s

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazzmen Johns and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jazzmen, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
Mike and I have two kids a 4 year old and a 15 year old. Big gap, we know. Our oldest has been with us throughout our whole Snapper Mike’s journey. So he has seen, what it has really taken us to get where we are. And with him having this front row seat and seeing the problem solving aspect of entrepreneurship. That is our biggest impact. Our kids know there is no “Can’t”, and you can always make a way when there seems like there is no way. Letting them see there are different pathways to success, and how to use the skills and tools available to them, to get where they want to be in life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Snapper Mike’s has been in operations for almost 7 years now. We take pride in not only providing our customers with the freshest seafood Florida has to offer, but also providing knowledge about our products, origin of harvest, taste, texture, etc. All those questions are answered not only at the surface but indept information so that the customer can make the best choice.

We are proud that Snapper Mike’s is thriving and growing. Building a base of satisfied customers that support us week after week.

We got to this point by staying true to our vision, of providing the freshest seafood possible. Making sure when customers hear Snapper Mike’s they think of freshness. It’s not that easy to maintain quality and freshness with seafood. And may be the reason why alot of other seafood markets don’t seem to try do so.

Over the years we have learned so much about this once hobby turned career. By connecting with local fishermen to source the freshest seafood possible. Harvesting some fish our selves to add to the selection customers have to choose from. Taking extra care in storing, properly cooling, and maintaining the seafood we provide to ensure to best quality for our consumers.

Snapper Mike’s is here for your seafood needs, and we are dedicated to providing our community with the best selections possible. We plan to continue to grow and expand to provide more people with better and healthier seafood options.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Anybody visiting the area I would say first you have to visit Snapper Mike’s of course. Grab some smoked fish dips and then hit the beach. If you are not from Florida then the beach is definitely a must.

Then you have the Yellow Green Farmers market. A crazy outdoor space with hundreds of vendors. This place will definitely keep you busy for a few hours.

Another good spot to check out is The Shoppes at Dania Pointe. They have all types of things to che k out there. From restaurants to bowling. Even a comedy club!!!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We will always give our biggest shoutout to our customers. They are the reason we are even in business, and make us continue to love and want to do what we do.
