We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Browne-Tavarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
As an actor I’ve definitely had moments where I feel like giving up, especially recently. But deep down I know I would regret it. I am an actor. I have to act no matter what. Even if I don’t reach a level of success that others would recognize it’s just such a huge part of who I am. It’s my dream. I do recognize being able to continuously follow a dream is a privilege and while I am able to do so I don’t believe in giving up
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Pursuing an acting career has been far from easy. I started as a kid acting in church plays then took theater classes as soon as I could in school. I did what I could wherever I was. While in southern Virginia I did community theater and when I moved to NYC I began working in independent films. Now in Miami, I am auditioning for commercials and trying to expand my connections. One of the biggest challenges for me has been staying true to my beliefs. I am a Christian and I try to put that first even when it comes to acting. For me that means not taking roles with nudity or excessive romantic physical acts, or roles with too much/unnecessary cursing. So that definitely limits me as an actor. I have overcome that by not giving up and by always communicating with directors/writers that I work with. The biggest lessons I’ve have learned along the way are consistency is key, having peace about a role or a production is so important, sometimes you do have to say no, and DONT GIVE UP!!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ooo I like this question. I’ve lived here since October 2021 so I’m still discovering places but I have found a few that I really love. Beaches are a must!! My top beaches are Bill Baggs State Park, Crandon Beach Park, and Fort Lauderdale Beach. There is a Spanish restaurant at Crandon Beach that has amazing paella. I also love Whiskey Creek Hideout in Dania Beach for paddle boarding and good beach eats. I recently went to Little Havana and definitely have to go back. Love the vibes and Cuban sandwiches!! Neverland cafe in North Miami for coffee is a must. For shopping I’d say Aventura Mall or walk around the shops at Bal Harbour. Lagniappe House in Miami is great for hanging out. You can listen to live jazz music and build your own charcuterie board. I would also take her to see the Bonnet House and museum in Fort Lauderdale or something similar. One place I haven’t been yet but really want to go to is the Venetian pool in Coral Gables. Oh and taking a ferry and doing a day trip to Bimini would be a must as well.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to shoutout my parents Tim and Khris Browne! They have always been so supportive and encouraging of me pursuing acting as a career. They gave me the freedom to follow my heart and never expected me to choose something that may have brought me easier “success.” They were so helpful to me when I moved from Virginia to NYC.
