We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Mintz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Daily affirmations, Yoga, Meditation, Persistence, Stepping out of my comfort zone, Creating a yearly vision board, Setting short term and long term goals
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What inspired me to want to work for myself is because growing up, with undiagnosed ADHD I never fit into societal norms. I am an independent thinker, and didn’t want to live an unfulfilled life behind a desk working for someone else. Being a realtor and freelance kids yoga teacher allows me to have a flexible schedule, show my creative side, and make time for the things most in my life. Being a hands on mom, advocating for my community, teaching kids yoga bring me so much purpose. Also, I am open about my neurodivergence because it’s important for others, especially kids to see that being different is okay.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Anytime I have guests visiting from CT where I grew up, we spend lots of time in Boca Raton, and downtown Delray. On the weekend we wake up at 5am and make our way to a sunrise beach yoga class, get breakfast at playa bowls which is a cold brew iced coffee and açaí bowl. For lunch my go-to is blue fin sushi in Boca Raton, FL, They have the best lobster bomb roll, and kids love the kids menu bento boxes. My favorite kids places to go to are; Sandoway in Delray to see the sharks, gumbo limbo in Boca to visit to sea turtles and butterfly garden. Sugar sand park is hands down the best public park I’ve ever been to, so I like to take my out of state visitors there. Sugar sand park has a playground, splash pad, science museum, butterfly garden and carousel. My favorite “stay cation” type day trip is peanut island, we take the ferry and enjoy a day of snorkeling. My favorite yoga studio is ATHA in Delray Beach, they have a beautiful 4 acre property nestled behind swinton historic district and features outdoor showers, fish pond, spa and sauna, heated yoga room, tree swings and retreat house. My favorite gym is a woman’s only gym in Boca, called Strong wellness and fitness studio.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband Jason Mintz, has always been my biggest supporter in all my endeavors. We work together as realtors in south Florida, I help him run his online collectibles business. Also, he is the one who pushed me to get my yoga teacher certificate during quarantine. Jason and I have been married 12 years, and what keeps our Marriage, our business partnership, parenting, and all of our life pursuits successful is the fact that we always strive to improve, hold our selves and each other accountable, and lead with our hearts.
