Hi Janiel (Lopi), can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
One of the most important lessons, I feel, I’ve learned throughout my career, is being able to understand people. Communication is a part of our daily lives and while building my career networking becomes one of the most important tasks you must carry out at almost every event. I gained better people skills and communication skills. This also helped me overcome a lot of my anxiety and tap into my true raw personality .

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
One thing I am most proud about in my profession is the fact that I get to wake up every morning and be extremely happy with the career path. I am currently going on. I had an idea of what I wanted to do at around age 8 and had no idea how to act upon it or even how to get there. YouTube and Google were my best friends in figuring out how this industry works and how to get 1 foot into the door as neither of my parents had any knowledge or experience in this area and I would be doing this on my own. It was definitely one of the hardest things I had to do as it does take a toll on your self-esteem as a growing teenage girl and a rejection is very common in this industry. I never actually saw the challenges as obstacles, but more so as areas to just develop more the deeper into the industry, I got I met more lovely models that coached me along the way throughout castings, and gave great pointers that I applied to my life today. the most important thing I would like people to take away from my story is the fact that you can definitely do it by yourself as long as you want it really badly.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
for a weeklong trip to show my best friend, a great time in Miami. I would definitely have them check out the Setai hotel for some of the greatest food and entertainment. And to experience some of the art and miami culture a walk through Wynwood walls. One of my favorite pastimes in Miami is to definitely take a walk around Miami design District, where all my favorite brands are and take pictures which I use for my fashion influencing. I have the most fun at one of my favorite places on earth when it comes to partying and raving with an exotic environment and melting pot of personalities, Domicile Miami. I meet the most exciting and interesting people here along well being able to dance the night away.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

The greatest thanks I could ever give would definitely go out to my mother and father, for raising me with the qualities that they have, and embedding great work ethic into me at a very young age, along with giving me the freedom and ability to choose my own path while being my biggest support system.
