Meet Desiree Lainette | Fotografa

We had the good fortune of connecting with Desiree Lainette and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Desiree, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
“Little artist” or as my family used to call me “pequeña artista” has been the way I have identified myself ever since I was little. My interest always peeked whenever there was a chance for me to close my eyes and imagine. I chose to pursue a career in photography because I can capture a moment and make it a memory. Also, being able to come up with poses and styles of clothing makes me feel like I can do anything; and in photography I can. My favorite pictures to take are the off-guard ones. They reflect the true emotion that people hide in front of the camera lens.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Originality is a main value in my personal and professional life. I try my best to find the picture that fits the person. Everyone has a way of expressing and being themselves and that is what I want to show in my work. Real life and real emotion.

Being where I am today took effort and consistency. I started in my hometown, Venezuela, as a production assistant in music videos so that I could dive deeper into the audio-visual world. The more I learned, the more intrigued I was to keep growing. One day they bumped me up to BTS photographer and ever since that day I haven’t stopped loving what I do.

The biggest lesson I learned along the way is that no matter where you come from, with passion, creativity, and consistency you can get anywhere you want.

What I want the world to know about my brand is that we prioritize the humane and natural aspect of life. We make the client feel at ease by connecting with them since the moment we meet. Our philosophy is “treat how you would like to be treated” and that is what I focus on.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I would take my best friend to Little Hen located in Midtown, Miami for a girly and tasty brunch.
I would then take her to Wynnwood Walls so that she can appreciate the prettiest art from the street artists in Miami. Also, Lincoln Rd would be the spot to shop and take urban-style pictures as well as Brickell. The view in both give off a fresh and stylish mood, so I would take that moment to “create the Miami memories.” For classy and old-money views, I would take her to Vizcaya Museum.
For the fun part, Rosa Sky in Brickell would be the perfect spot for drinks and a wonderful view of the city. Lastly, the sunny and wonderful beaches of Miami would blow her mind so I would get us up early in the morning to see the sunrise.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
As the saying goes, no one will be there for you like your parents will. When I was eleven years old, my dad gifted me my first camera. I was amazed by how quickly I could take pictures and I could not stop. I remember I took a picture of my mom while eating black beans and she came out with a black tooth. That was epic!. Therefore, my shoutout goes to my parents who are my rock. They encourage me to keep dreaming because they say my creativity could never die.
