We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natalie, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson my business has taught me has been to never believe the grass will always be greener on the other side. At the start of my business, I always doubted myself and thought that maybe I should give up since everyone else’s businesses were taking off while I struggled to lift mine off the ground. Things became discouraging but the more time passed and the more hard work I put in, I realized that things aren’t always as they seem. It is now my goal to continue working to my fullest potential and not let my doubts interfere with my success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
HDZ Permit Solutions started out as a dream about five years ago. I never would have imagined to be where we are today. The services we supply include permit expediting throughout Florida, inspection scheduling, notary services, contractor registration for any city/county departments needed. HDZs specialty also allows us to prepare permit packets for Window/Door/Garage Door/ Shutter permits as well. We have provided services to a plethora of contractors stretching from Key West up into Central Florida. Although the permit industry is what I love most, it has been extremely far from easy. Being women in the industry, it can be challenging as others look down on you and underestimate what you can bring, in terms of excellent service and the attention to detail. I’ve learned to never let that affect me and how much I believe in myself and my team.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The itinerary would always start with a nice brunch, preferably at my favorite French bakery, La Boulangerie Boul’Mich. Definitely would continue the day with a day at the beach! We can’t visit Miami without visiting the beach. For the evening, depending on the vibe of the night we can always either go out for a dinner and a movie at CineBistro or go out to dinner at Sexy Fish! Throughout the week we can visit spots like Versailles for some great Cuban food, Bayside for more food and a boat tour. We can always follow it up with getting tickets to a Marlins game at LoanDepot Stadium. Definitely hitting the Versace Mansion for dinner one of the nights of the itinerary!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate this feature to a handful of people who are part of my success but there is one in particular I could not go without mentioning. I’d like to thank my dad for being so brave in his journey to the states. He was so courageous in the wide trek of crossing the sea to arrive in this country in the hopes of providing, not only himself, but his daughters, the opportunities he was never granted growing up. My small business itself is a dedication to my father since the business name after all, is the last name he has given us.

HDZ would not be HDZ without Dad.
