Hi Elena, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
From Cosmetologist to Storyteller: Nurturing Two Passions

I embarked on my journey as a writer two years ago, driven by my ceaseless passion for narrating and crafting stories for children. These young minds not only cherish my tales but also serve as a constant reminder of how a single story can transform through their vivid imaginations. Their remarkable retention abilities fascinate me, fueling my aspiration to immortalize these narratives on paper.

By day, I thrive as a cosmetologist, specializing in oncology aesthetics. Amidst this fulfilling career, I’ve discovered an unexpected yet enchanting pursuit: storytelling. While my profession caters to enhancing outer beauty, my hobby revolves around enriching the inner worlds of my young audience.

As I continue to counsel my fellow aestheticians, I advocate the notion that growth is a perpetual companion on our professional journey. Esthetics, undoubtedly an artistic expression, beckons us to explore uncharted territories. Just as I encourage others to expand their horizons, I am reminded that storytelling, like esthetics, possesses boundless potential for evolution.

In a realm where the stroke of a brush or the stroke of a pen can yield transformations, I find myself at the intersection of two diverse yet harmonious passions. As a writer and an esthetician, I am devoted to kindling beauty, be it through revitalizing appearances or weaving captivating narratives.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My practice centers around the belief that life is a continuous journey of growth and self-improvement. My personal motto, “My life is constantly under construction. There’s always something to improve,” encapsulates the essence of my approach. Every individual has the potential to grow and evolve, and I am committed to guiding them through their unique paths of transformation.

Empowering lives is not just a profession for me; it’s a passion and a purpose. My journey from a cosmetologist driven by a dream to a life coach dedicated to making a difference has been a remarkable one. Through countless one-on-one sessions, I’ve witnessed the remarkable transformations that can occur when people begin to believe in themselves and embrace change.

My legacy is the positive impact I’ve had on the lives of those I’ve had the privilege to work with. I’ve helped individuals find their voices, overcome their insecurities, and rewrite their life stories. In a world that often undermines self-worth, I stand as a testament to the idea that true beauty radiates from within.

I’ve learned that the path to empowerment is a lifelong journey. I’ve dedicated my life to helping others discover their strength, embrace their uniqueness, and embark on a journey of self-discovery. Through every step of my career, I’ve come to understand that true fulfillment comes from watching others thrive, and I am committed to continuing this journey of transformation, one person at a time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in beautiful Palm Beach County. I always have visitors from other areas, especially from out of the country. They love coming to this picturesque county, and when they do, I have the pleasure of showing them around my city, which has been my hometown for 50 years. We have stunning scenery, such as the Breakers Hotel, and the entirety of Palm Beach Island with its beautiful beaches. During a whole week of my friends visiting, we constantly explore different beaches, dining options, and exquisite restaurants, as well as visit our downtown City Place.

Living in the same county has allowed me to build a stable clientele that has been with me since high school. My children have grown up in the county, and my wonderful husband has been a tour guide for many groups visiting the area.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my beautiful and selfless daughter, Adriana Zabala. Despite her commitments to both her music academy and family, she has devoted additional time to meticulously edit the significant task of refining the children’s book, “Adriana Zabala Music Academy.” I also extend my appreciation to my two incredible friends, Rosemary Martines and Christine Ferrera, for their unwavering dedication in breathing life into the story’s characters.
