We had the good fortune of connecting with Ana Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ana, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Prior to founding Bloom and Behold, I spent years working in a corporate environment elaborating sophisticated spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations – I was your typical corporate baddie. Although my corporate job was fulfilling and fun, I was still missing quality time with family and friends. In hopes to create bonding quality time with loved ones, I started purchasing flowers and bringing them home to make cutesy arrangements. After dinner, all of us (my mother, sister, fiancé, and myself) would sit to make floral arrangements and chat about our day. Shortly after, not only we noticed we loved doing this together, but others noticed too and started asking to make floral arrangements for their homes. We enjoyed seeing how florals evoke emotions in others and this led to the birth of a family adventure. I began doing my due diligence to find local flower suppliers, learning about design, pricing, and budgeting. We put a nice business plan together and we began working. Short of 3 years later, our continuous bonding quality time has turned into a way to make others feel special. At Bloom and Behold, it is not just about building an arrangement – it is about bringing happiness, joy, excitement, comfort, strength, peace, and love.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Outside of Bloom and Behold, I am still a professional working in the cybersecurity space. I am the person behind the computer fighting the bad guys that are trying to access your data 🙂
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The best restaurant in town is Louis Bossi and Casa Sensei.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to thank God for proving and maintaining the vision for Bloom and Behold. Secondly, I’d like to thank my sister, my mother and fiancé for supporting me through this journey,
