Hi Tyler, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I think my thought process on starting my own business has change some over the years. I originally decided to start my own business for the simple fact that I generally never really liked working for somebody else. I was always a good employee and was proficient at the jobs I had, but I always knew in my heart that no one was going to pay me more than I would pay myself. I had goals that I knew I could never reach while working for a company other than my own. I knew that in most jobs there’s a limit to how high you can reach. Whereas when you own your own business, the sky is the limit.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The inception of my business, Tyler Costas Lawn Care, presents an intriguing narrative. My journey commenced at a young age, I was 13 years old, back in 2007, when I began working for my father’s lawn care company. Years of dedicated service within the family business provided me with insights into the intricacies of business management and the lawn care industry. These experiences fueled my aspiration to establish my own company in 2015. In its beginning stages, we operated on a modest scale, tending to only a handful of properties. Presently, our clientele has expanded to just shy of 150 satisfied customers who entrust us with their lawn care needs. The endeavor of founding this company was undeniably challenging, yet it has proven exceptionally rewarding.

I often emphasize the universal relevance of salesmanship, because regardless of the industry you’re in, you are always selling yourself, promoting your brand, and showcasing your expertise. Ultimately, sales equals income. By mastering the art of sales, any business endeavor can flourish over time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When I have the pleasure of hosting an out-of-town friend, I find immense joy in curating an unforgettable experience that showcases the diverse and vibrant offerings of the city of Hollywood. It’s a place where I take pride in introducing them to a carefully curated selection of attractions that capture the essence of this remarkable locale.

First and foremost, there’s the iconic Hollywood beach, a must-visit destination that boasts sun-kissed sands, pristine waters, and an atmosphere that exudes relaxation and leisure. A leisurely stroll along the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk, with its bustling cafes and shops, is often the ideal way to start the day, allowing them to soak in the coastal beauty and vibrant energy.

For those with an inclination towards outdoor adventure, a venture into the untamed Everglades becomes an exciting prospect. Here, amidst the awe-inspiring wilderness, we engage in largemouth bass fishing, an activity that immerses us in the natural splendor of this unique ecosystem. The Everglades, with its diverse flora and fauna, never ceases to captivate and offers a profound connection to the heart of Florida’s wilderness.

As day turns into night, a visit to downtown Hollywood becomes an enticing option. The city’s nightlife is a tapestry of experiences, featuring a wide array of restaurants, bars, and clubs. Whether it’s savoring delectable cuisine at a trendy eatery, enjoying live music at a local venue, or dancing the night away in a vibrant nightclub, the city’s nightlife scene is a testament to its lively spirit.

In essence, the city of Hollywood embodies a rich tapestry of experiences, and I take great pleasure in sharing these cherished moments with friends from afar, making their visit a memory of our time together in this dynamic and alluring destination.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I believe that the recognition of a significant portion of my achievements being attributed to the assistance of others is paramount. My foremost inspiration in this regard is my father. From an early age, my father faced considerable adversities, yet he displayed remarkable resilience in establishing a small enterprise that not only sustained our family but also served as an exemplar of diligence and determination. Witnessing his unwavering commitment and tenacity instilled in me the confidence to overcome my apprehensions about embarking on entrepreneurial ventures. He effectively paved the path, demonstrating that with relentless effort and a touch of innovation, the establishment of one’s own business is eminently achievable. Growing up observing my father’s stewardship of his own company, I harbored a deep-seated conviction that I would one day tread a similar, if not more ambitious, entrepreneurial path.
