We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Sabella and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Some habits that helped me succeed is practice, practice, practice. Practice truly does make perfect and the best way to succeed at a skill is to do it over and over until you nail it. Another one is keeping up with trends, and researching new flavours and designs. The dessert world is big on trends and keeping up with the latest stories. People love a good themed dessert!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The food industry has been in my family for a very long time so I’ve grown up in the atmosphere and was always very familiar with the work. Once I graduated high school I moved to NYC and studied Baking and Pastry at The Institute of Culinary Education. It was so important to me to learn the science and foundations to what I love and since graduating from there I’ve really been hands on in the industry, perfecting my skill. Now on top of a full time job, I make my own luxury cakes and desserts for close people in my life and I share my creations on my page Desserts by Elizabeth and on my website www.DessertsbyLiz.com.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly to every single person who has been there for me, past, present, and even the future. I am so grateful to everyone who has helped get me to where I am today and the continued support from friends and loved ones really keeps me going.

I would like to shoutout all of my supporters and everyone who’s been there for me since the beginning. Even when I’ve felt like I’ve failed I have amazing family, friends, and co-workers who support me like no other.
