We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Shashu Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Shashu, what inspires you?
I am inspired by seeing others get through painful situations and come out on the other side. That is why I created M.E.N.D. Families Corp (mending, engaging, nourishing, dedicated families). I wanted to pay it forward to all of the people that helped me during my rough patch by helping others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets apart is that we provide unique experiences and opportunities to ensure that families and individuals that come in contact with us leave different than as well as better than when they first met us. Over the years we have had the opportunity to connect with the right people to help carry out our mission and vision. It is not always easy, but it is worth it. We want the world to know and remember that M.E.N.D. Families Corp is here to heal the mind, body, and soul of those going through painful situations.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love brunch spots & other restaurants in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. There are so many that we have created a restaurant list lol.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to 4 groups of people 1. My family because they held it down for me in my darkest days. They also have supported my vision of creating a non-profit that literallt focuses on helping others. They have done so many acts to support my nonprofit that it really touches my heart more than they know!!!
2. My Board of Directors is another group that I must dedicate this to. They are another group who encouraged me to start the non-profit when I approached them about my ideas of creating a summit to help others. After that they have been riding this exciting journey from the start. We have met every goal that we have planned and look forward to crushing more goals in the future
3. My friend Angel who took time to create our marketing materials from the beginning such as logo, website, posters, and much more. She beleived in our mission and vision. She always created professional materials and has continued to support us over the years!
4. Of course all of the people who referred us to someone who needed help & those who supported us in a plethora of ways whether it be donating, attending events, providing giveaways, sponsorships, and so much more. Honestly that is a lot of people over the last 7 years since we were established. We are extremely appreciative because without them we could not do many of the things we have done.
