Hi Kathyann, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My children hold an unparalleled place in my heart, transcending time – past, present, and future, always on my mind. As a parent, I’m constantly pondering, ‘How can I? What can I?’ My ultimate aspiration is to provide them and generations to come with something truly valuable. For me, financial independence is not just a goal; it’s a gateway to the freedom of life intertwined with work. I toil tirelessly, striving for a brighter future characterized by fewer sacrifices and more cherished family memories. With my children in the forefront of my thoughts, I embarked on this entrepreneurial journey, naming my business after them – Ky (from Kylan) and Le (from Le’ah), resulting in ‘Kyle Join.’ It’s more than a business; it’s a directory to connect, network, and ultimately thrive.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

“In 2017, ‘Buildsmart Construction’ had its inception in the Bahamas, we worked alongside other companies on prestigious projects like those of Shakira and Justin Bieber. Later, the company found a new home in Florida as ‘K & L Buildsmart Construction LLC.’ As an interior designer, I embarked on a journey filled with studies, managing my husband’s business, and striving to secure contracts of my own. Balancing these demands became increasingly challenging as we grappled with marketing struggles and various business obstacles.

While the financial aspect was comfortable, I yearned for more than just the role of a housewife. We realized that I needed something to contribute financially, but more importantly, grant us the freedom to cherish family time together. As the manager, I often handled the demanding task of marketing, leading me to ponder why not extend this expertise to not only benefit us but also other businesses. This led to the creation of ‘KyleJoin,’ a directory intended to foster connections, networking, and success in various businesses.

Though launching a new business presented its challenges, the desire for greater family involvement remained a top priority for us. I’m passionate about encouraging women who, like me, seek the freedom to earn while enjoying time with their families. We believe it’s not only possible but also attainable, and we’re eager to connect, network, and succeed alongside them

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I’d love to treat her to a special experience at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort. We can savor breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a stunning beachfront view, reminiscent of our cherished visits to the “Fish Fry” in the Bahamas. The following day, we can relax on Fort Lauderdale Beach, indulging in the local cuisine and soaking up the ambiance. In the evening, we’ll have a lavish dinner at Takato Restaurant, and to end it all we can dance the night away at one of these fantastic venues: Delish Restaurant, Truth Lounge, Hollywood Live, Express Lounge, or the ultimate dance spot, “Dance Plus.”

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I’d like to shoutout and offer heartfelt gratitude to Jehovah, the wonderful creator of the woman I’ve become and my unwavering backbone. My kids, who ignited the spark for my journey. My husband, an entrepreneur in the construction industry at ‘K & L Buildsmart Construction,’ who supports all my business ventures, even when they seem crazy. My parents, who have always believed in me, especially my mom, whose unwavering belief in working hard to provide the best for my kids inspired me. My little sister, my constant cheerleader, who always knows the right words to uplift me. And my sister-in-law, a talented and wise young woman, who not only believes in me but has been a consistent source of support.
