We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney Campbell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittney, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always had a love for art. I never knew how to channel it for the longest. It was not until I was in high school, I took art for the first time and my teacher was amazing. She motivated me to expand my horizon and try new things. So, I did and won an award at a local art show. It was one of the greatest feelings because I had worked so hard on the painting. There was a lot of self doubt. I had to deal with and work through. Is my work good enough? Am I capable of this? I went to school for business but found out that’s not what I wanted to do. I really wanted to create art. See, you can go all around the world and try things but you will always come back to your first love. My first love is to create. I am passionate about encouraging others to do the same through visual storytelling. I create cohesive and professional brands for creative entrepreneurs who are ready to stand out with strategic design so they can attract their ideal clients. I absolutely love what I do!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a self-taught graphic design artist who specializes in visual identity for creatives just like myself who may be struggling to tell their unique story in a way that feels like them. I am all about strategic design to help their brand shine through unforgettably. What sets me apart is my eye for detail, and being a creative myself so I know how to position myself in order to better serve my clients because we have similar stories. It took me a while to figure out what I was fully passionate about, but I now know I love helping others tell their unique story through visual storytelling. It has not been easy, but so rewarding to know I’ve made a mark in telling someone else’s story. I’ve learned that if you keep going things will eventually get easier along the way. Don’t give up! There is beauty in your story, and art in your brand!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Come on friends let’s take a beach trip! I absolutely love the beach. We would eat at Lulu’s with a nice ocean view with good food. We would walk the Harbor with a nice scenic view of the ocean, and lay out on the beach! Sounds fun, right?
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, I would like to give praise and honor to my God without Him I could do nothing. He was there for me through it all. I want to thank my family and friends for believing in me and encouraging me that I could do hard things. Lastly, my Instagram community of sisters who support and encourage me daily who are the driving force behind what I do.
