We had the good fortune of connecting with April H. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi April, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Since the age of 11, I have had a love for fashion. Overtime as I started thinking of how to get to that goal, having a boutique was what came to mind. Of course life has a way of steering you away from your ultimate goal sometimes, which made me put it on the back burner for a while, until after I was diagnosed with heart failure in 2018. I realized then, that life is too short not to go for what you love. After surgery and rehab I went straight to work on what I love, bringing about Crave Dior.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Crave Dior offers vibrant, fun and bold looks whether you are at home or out- and-about. We offer women sizes small to 5xl in apparel, accessories, jewelry, bags, eyewear and more. I have always viewed style as a way to express what is or you would like to feel inside through fashion. I aim to bring you fashion that you can make your own and will have you feeling and looking amazing.

It was and isn’t easy managing a growing business. There are times you are overwhelmed, unsure and feeling incapable. That is why it is good to pursue business in something you love whole heartedly, so giving up won’t be an easy task to do. You can make money off of anything, but everything requires time, nuturing and patience. Having to do those things is easy if it is what you love. I would also like to add that surrounding yourself with people who are uplifting, positive, honest and like-minded can help as well.  This will be the community you build.
Since the start, Crave Dior is worldwide and have shipped to over 45 states in the US and up to 4 countries. Crave Dior has been featured in New York based Fashion GXD Magazine and Voyage Miami. We look forward to continue expanding and supplying amazing people beautiful pieces.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give honor and thanks to God first and always for the drive, talent and strength He supplies. My family and friends that are super supportive in all that I do. The sister circle of like minded business ladies and to all the fashionistas who had the pleasure to know and grow with over the years while sharing the ups and downs to business.
