Meet Ajla Brama | Money, Biz & Finance

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ajla Brama and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ajla, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Perseverance. I have two businesses. When I started my first, a natural skincare company, I had no idea what I was doing at all. I winged everything and hoped for the best. All I knew was that I had a passion and bills to pay. That was the single most worst and best year of my life. Every day I would wake up and figure out how to make my company better and how to sell.
There would be weeks at a time where I would go in circles trying to figure out how to grow the company. But when you persevere, you make progress. Especially when you’re not making money and everything seems like it’s failing. When you think about it, everything is a numbers game. If you work at something over and over again, there’s a probability of you making strides and hitting success. You just have to keep going and persevere.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is creating content surrounding money. I really enjoy talking about money so I decided to create on social media platforms and talk specifically about that. I feel like I’m really educated in finance in general; like the stock market, real estate and all around money (credit cards, mortgages, taxes, etc).
Business-wise I got to where I am today by:
1. Doing TONS of learning. I listened to podcasts, watched Youtube videos and read lots of articles
2. Regurgitating the information I learned into fun, engaging video content that others would enjoy
3. Doing the above two consistently and merging my interests with my audiences interests to make the content even better
Was it easy? To be honest… yes. But only because I’m SO passionate in learning and teaching about money. It doesn’t feel like “work”. It actually de-stresses me!
The lessons I’ve learned along the way are to never take anything personal. People can be really harsh and mean. And it’s because they are reflecting on their own selves. Also when you choose to not take things personally, you don’t let opinions and noise affect you. This gets you really far, really quickly,
I want the world to know that money is all around them. There’s a certain system built so that not everyone gets some of it. But it’s not inevitable. It’s not impossible. Learn about finance and taxes by making small steps, like following finance pages on social media. You probably spend 5+ hours on social media anyways. Might as well follow pages that can help you think bigger!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them somewhere with Asian food. Ramen, sushi, hibachi, anything! I really enjoy restaurants with cool entertainment so Jaya at the Setai is a top contender, I love to get dressed up and wear heels so fun rooftop bars, lounges, speed-easy’s and nightclubs; Rose Sky, Wynwood, Mr Jones, E11even.
Some of the most exciting things to check out are the pop-up stuff that happens in Miami quite often. Some are food related, some are interactive, fun art. There’s a cool goat farm in Kendall where you can pet baby goats!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I used to listen to podcasts none stop. I’m not a big book reader, but I can listen to a podcast at any time of the day. A few of my fav’s are: How I Built This, Pounding the Table and Bigger Pockets – Money. Other than that, “I’d like to thank me. For always believing in me” LOL!
