Meet Patricia Salamin | Design Director & Visual Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Patricia Salamin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Patricia, how do you think about risk?
Definitely the word Risk takes a big role in the process of having a successful life and career. Risking is everything for me specially taking the risk exposing your creativity and making decisions expressing yourself putting life into the spaces. Playing it safe is not my thing, I rather make bolder choices and expand my ideas and design criteria mixing materials, playing with forms and taking in consideration every detail.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is about everything I love and the passion that I have for life. Colors, nature, texture, music, forms… I could say that somehting that apart from others is the way that I express myself genuitly painting on my canvas what I feel without following any trend…

Discipline, dedication and constantly learning took me there. It wasn’t easy for all the barriers that I had to deal with however it wasn’t impossible. Leading the Design Department of Hollub Group is still a daily challenge and I love it. I t keeps my creativity and leadership alive.

The biggest lesson that I had learned along the way is the limits are only in your mind and staying focus working for your goals day by day will take you to the success.

I will remark the beautiful combination of Art & Design putting life into a space.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Will spend one day by the ocean in Miami Beach, chill out at the 1 Hotel rooftop, hangout in the Design District, have some fun in the Living Room at the Faena Hotel – Jazz night, drinks and in Queen and take them to have some Cuban Latin flavors in Calle 8. Dinner at Casadona.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to say a big thanks to my husband for all the support and encouragment me to don’t put limits in my career or barriers being a latin woman living in United States. Also, I want to say thanks to my family and mentors that I had the opportunity to learned from them through out the years in both words – Art and Design.
