We had the good fortune of connecting with Yanyn San Luis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yanyn, how does your business help the community?
The Win Woman firm is a Hispanic-owned business recognized by NMSDC, dedicated to being a catalyst for positive change in our community and economy.
One of our core objectives is to assist corporations in strengthening their supplier diversity programs. By doing so, we actively promote economic growth and open doors for other minority-owned businesses to play a significant role in our flourishing economy.
We aspire to actively engage in conversations addressing social injustices. Thus our commitment lies in setting up corporations for success as they invest in their communities and seek diverse suppliers to partner with.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Win Woman is all about helping corporations and nonprofits WIN in the social impact game. Personally, I’ve always had a thing for that sweet taste of victory, whether it’s sealing a deal, winning a game, or tackling a tough challenge. Plus, I’ve got a background in corporate responsibility and fundraising, which adds to our toolkit.
What I’ve come to realize is that lots of corporations and nonprofits out there could use some extra help in the winning department when it comes to making a positive impact. That’s where we come in, offering our expertise to make sure they come out on top in the world of social impact. For corporations, we help them expand their supplier diversity, ESG, and DEI initiatives. And for nonprofits, we help them increase their funding, improve their operations, and improve their boards.
I think about fear everyday of my life. When I wake up in the morning it feels like the gun at the Kentucky Derby has gone off and its off to the races. Fear and risk go hand in hand and the way I handle it is by working our processes. We have a systematic approach to how we run our business from business development to our careful cultivation of our clients. Risk taking is all about strengthening systems, your process, your secret sauce. Once you have that down, sprinkle a little conviction and faith, and you’re able to do anything.
One of the lessons I’ve learned is that balance doesn’t exist. For CEOs, Entrepreneurs, and for those who want to make an impact in this world. There will be days 90% of your day will be committed to your work and you’ll only have 5% for self and 5% for family. Other days the ratio would be flipped. What’s important is to build integrity, trust and confidence with your team so they know you have their back and vice versa. The foundation of support around you needs to be solid to be able to grow, scale and for your overall well being. Overtime the commitment to cultivating team members is at the forefront of the investments that are made, and its at core of our values.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The most pivotal factor behind The Win Woman’s success is unequivocally our extraordinary team. We are the living embodiment of The Win Woman’s core mission, which is to empower and guide others to WIN in the realm of social impact. When our team members engage with our clients and prospective partners, they not only represent our brand but also personify the passion, dedication, and expertise that define our consultancy. It is through their unwavering commitment to our clients’ success and their deep understanding of the intricacies of social impact that we continue to thrive and make a meaningful difference in our communities.
