We had the good fortune of connecting with Christiano Gioacchini and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christiano, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
“Play it safe…”

I believe that everything we do in life is risky. So my thought process is that I would rather risk everything for all that I love, even if there is no clear path or promise it will succeed.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So I don’t consider myself to be the most creative person. But I do love my work. I take all sorts of photos and videos, and there isn’t an area of the two I like more. I feel, if I have a camera in my hand I am in the right place. I am most proud of myself simply not giving up. It has been a difficult journey that I took completely alone. Starting at around 15 years of age I decided I wanted to make visual content for the rest of my life. I rarely did anything else. My focus in school dropped, I felt going to parties and fun activities were a waste of time. Because of this, I spent most of my time learning everything I could about photography and videography. A message I love to spread is not to take risks and just follow your heart, No matter what anyone says.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Okay, so this is difficult because I live in a few areas :). But let’s say Rome Italy. I would take them to all the amazing restaurants there are here. They need to try traditional Italian food and Rome is one of the best places to get it. From Carbonara to Amatriciana, there are endless pasta dishes. Then, I would take them to the colosseum and the many remains of the roman empire. There is so much beauty in Rome.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am shouting out two creators who got me into taking photos and videos and have inspired me more than anyone. First of all, Devin Graham. He is an American videographer who posted inspiring videos to his YouTube channel. Watching his videos made me want to do what he did!

Not long after I found the photographer Peter Mckinnon. Who to this day, makes the most inspiring content on social media. His photos, videos, and character are my weekly inspiration.
