We had the good fortune of connecting with Davia Dwyer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Davia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was not interested to start a business, my aim was to take care of my illness. However I started buying from a local store for my personal use. Then I decided to buy a few items and sell them. The results were great. A friend of mine noticed I had the items and decided help me sell them. All was sold out really fast. I decided to get another batch, same happen. The results from using these products are great. I decided invest on my business, create a name, a friend of mine got it registered and from there I decided to invest more.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

Nursing is a demanding profession that requires dedication, hard work, and continuous learning. Nurses face various challenges, including long hours, emotional stress, and demanding work environments. Overcoming these challenges often requires resilience, support from colleagues and mentors, and a commitment to self-care.

What the world should know about nursing is that it’s a noble and rewarding profession that plays a crucial role in healthcare. Nurses are often the frontline caregivers, providing compassionate and competent care to patients across a variety of settings. Their dedication and expertise make a significant difference in the lives of individuals, families, and communities.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I were planning a week-long trip to Jamaica with my best friend, here’s a suggested itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Montego Bay
– Arrive at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay.
– Check into a beachfront resort like Round Hill Hotel and Villas or Half Moon.
– Relax on the beach and enjoy the resort amenities.
– Dinner at Scotchies for authentic Jamaican jerk chicken.

Day 2: Explore Montego Bay
– Morning visit to Doctor’s Cave Beach for some sun and snorkeling.
– Lunch at The Pelican Grill for seafood with a view.
– Afternoon shopping and exploring the Hip Strip.
– Sunset cocktails at Margaritaville.
– Dinner at Pier One for waterfront dining and live music.

Day 3: Road Trip to Negril
– Rent a car and drive along the scenic coast to Negril.
– Stop at the Luminous Lagoon in Falmouth for a nighttime boat tour to see the bioluminescent plankton.
– Check into a beachfront hotel like The Cliff Hotel or Rockhouse Hotel.
– Dinner at Rick’s Café for cliffside dining and live reggae music.

Day 4: Enjoy Negril
– Spend the day relaxing on Seven Mile Beach.

– Afternoon visit to the Negril Lighthouse for panoramic views.
– Sunset cliff jumping and cocktails at Rick’s Café.

Day 5: Adventure in Ocho Rios

– Visit the Bob Marley Museum to learn about the reggae legend’s life and music.

– Afternoon tour of Port Royal to learn about its pirate history.
– Dinner at Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records for Jamaican cuisine and sports bar atmosphere.

Day 7: Farewell and Departure
– Morning visit to the Blue Mountains for a coffee plantation tour.
– Brunch at Strawberry Hill for breathtaking mountain views.
– Return to Montego Bay for afternoon relaxation before heading to the airport for departure.
