We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Rosenblatt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
When I first began my own business I let my clients dictate my scheduled no matter how difficult or inconvenient it was for me. Now I have learned I have to set boundaries in order to keep myself mentally and physically healthy and happy.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Back in 1993 I started taking aerobics and decided I loved it so much I wanted to teach it. Before I knew it, it became an integral part of my life. In 1995 I got a job in the health club and became a personal trainer and a nutritional counselor. I worked in health clubs until 2010 where I decided to start my own business out of my home. During this time I also got divorced and kept my business and my home and raised to incredible daughters while building my business. I believe I was able to Succeed in my business and thrive and keep my home and support my children because of my passion for what I do and I struggle with health and fitness my whole life until I started teaching a group exercise. It’s been difficult to say the least working for myself being a provider for my girls having my income very from day-to-day week to week and to month Constantly having to promote myself and maintain a healthy lifestyle as the forefront of my wellness business. What a special about my brand in my story is I run my business based on my lifestyle, my challenges, and I am very real and forthcoming and I feel that helps my Clients relate more to me as I understand the journey. My motto is Fitness for every BODY! And I coached based on the principal of focus on all that you Can do
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I would definitely take them to Newport Rhode Island that would show them the cliff walk and then we would have a nice dinner on the waterfront. If we could stay in Newport, I would suggest we rent bikes, or bring our own and bike along The water. If we had more time, I would also take my friend into Boston and explore Newberry Street and the entire back bay area and extend the day of possible to the Seaport where there are some great restaurants and fabulous views of the water.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My daughters Ashley and Alexis who have supported me in my business ventures since day one and continue to do so.
