We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Before I began my business, I was working in corporate and had a daughter under the age of 1. She was in daycare 10 hours a day and my health had been suffering for years by that point. It was a perfect storm for me. By that point I had seen a number of naturopathic and biological medicine doctors and had gone through so many therapies and protocols. But the one thing I hadn’t yet tried was to stop the corporate work and address the chronic stress it caused. So, I did something that was extremely uncomfortable for me at the time, I left a career I had built up for over a decade. It was the best move I ever made. I knew I wanted to become a health coach so that I could focus on my own health and also help others restore their health. The fact that I was also able to be more present for my daughter was a huge bonus.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I help midlife women restore hormone balance, regain energy and revitalize passion so they can have a vibrant life. In my practice, what sets me apart are the use of functional medicine lab tests and my soft approach to coaching. I encourage clients to take small consistent steps that feel sustainable to them. Clients tell me again and again, they feel supported and cared for the entire time they work with me.

The biggest thing that sets me and my business apart from others is my use of functional medicine lab testing in combination with how I approach guiding my clients to sustainable lifestyle and diet changes. This combination is unique because I can develop specific protocols for clients to help expedite their results but have them feel relaxed and empowered while they make small shifts that benefit them long term. It’s a happy combination of quick wins with long term and sustainable results.

My business path was bumpy and it took me years to get to where I am. The key to success for me is to feel the freedom to experiment and pivot. It took several years to find my calling that felt aligned with what I wanted to achieve. Shifting my focus to midlife women alone really lit me up and inspired me to host my first summit this year and I’ll also be publishing my first book later this year!

The biggest transformation though is my health. I’m able to build this business because I worked on my own health, the exact strategies that I teach my clients. Now at 50, I feel healthier and more vibrant than when I was 30.

When a client feels like her absolute best self, filled with energy and feeling mentally sharp, she can do amazing things. She can get that promotion, write that book, start her own business, have energy to play with her children, cook healthy meals that support her whole family and so much more.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would plan a kid-friendly week that might look something like this.

Day 1

Explore South Beach because there are lovely views and playgrounds at South Pointe Park.
Then have lunch at Pura Vida
In the evening we could rent bikes for a family friendly ride along the Ocean Drive Art Deco District

Day 2

Start with Jungle Island for some fun wildlife experience
Then head to Wynwood Walls for the fun outdoor art and grab lunch at Wynwood Kitchen and Bar.
Then we could explore the art district in Wynwood and have dinner at Joey’s

Day 3

Visit Miami Seaquarium for the day and have lunch at Whisk Gourmet Food and Catering

Day 4:

Explore the Miami Children’s Museum
Then head to Crandon Park for a picnic lunch on the beach.

Day 5

Explore the Everglades National Park for an airboat tour, bringing a picnic lunch.
Then have dinner at GreenStreet Cafe in Coconut Grove.
