We had the good fortune of connecting with Terry Hardmon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Terry, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have a sincere passion for construction beginning with my childhood of building my own toys and play items from a very loving but from a less fortunate family. I was blessed to work for major fortune 500 construction firm and projects completing over 1/2 billion project volume over my career from a variety of projects and states from New York to Miami Florida. . I have always wanted to complete projects at my will for more purposeful projects such as church’s, community supportive projects, and other development projects that directly impact the urban community. Most important I want to be an example for young men and women of color to see a person of color perform on a major level so that they can be inspired to do so as well.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a Construction Manager and Developer. My background is from design build construction which is what I love. This process embeds in me “there is noting that can’t be built or resolved.
I contract with/as the Owners to bring their vision project to fruition by partnering with contractors to build residential, mix use, mid-rise apartment buildings, restaurants, Church’s, and all other development construction opportunities that present themselves.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Go to a popular sports bar to watch the popular sports game. Dinner at a beach restaurant.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to acknowledge my Grandmother “Ms. Bee” Beatrice McBride as the true tough love soul of my being. I always wanted to do better to be able to give her more as I was always renovating the house we grew up in,, as she did not want to move..
