We had the good fortune of connecting with Empress Eebee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Empress Eebee, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued singing and songwriting because it’s in my blood. I grew up in a family of singers, musicians, writers, rappers and poets. Growing up, listening to not only them, but different genres of music, such as Rock, Disco, R&B, Alternative and others, allowed me to grow easily into the craft of writing, for myself as well as others.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As an artist, I think what sets me apart is being able to connect with the listener. It’s an honor to entertain crowds and they get silent but all the while, still snapping fingers or tapping feet, bobbing their heads to the music, because they’re listening. Receiving every word. Im most proud of my resilience because it’s how I got here today. It started with a vision and people to tell me I’d never get anywhere with it. Seeing and hearing the opposition against me, put a drive inside of me, and proving something to them, turned to proving it to only myself.

It was not easy, at all. You have gate keepers, even in the smallest of places, and when people know that you’re good at what you do, it becomes a threat to them, automatically forcing you to stay guarded. I’ve overcome many challenges, and as a woman, it’s more tough in music. You have to prove to them you are just as good, if not more sometimes and always mean business. Some respect it, but some don’t, making it more difficult to comfortably pursue my craft. I’ve overcome some of these challenges by connecting with others who respect my art and believe in it as much as I do.

Along this journey, I’ve learned to take control of my brand and how I want to be represented. And my brand is and always will be LOVE. Love is the reason I do what I do. I’ve overcome many hurdles. An abusive marriage, rumors and gossip, depression, and other pains and traumas and the only thing that helped to revive me was Love. Self love first. As I continue to heal, I will always encourage others to as well through music, and I will continue to do it, with Love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Day 1 would be food and drinks at Prime 112 for the evening because my best friend loves steak. Day 2 would be afternoon fun in the sun on South beach boardwalk with drinks after from Backyard bar
Day 3 would be hitting the golf course at Top Golf and then ending at Nomi Village
Day 4 is probably a chill day but enjoying some live music at the Anderson and comedy in the evening at the Miami Improv
Day 5 would be food again but at Smith & Webster

In my view, the most interesting places to be is around live music, people smiling, laughing and dancing. You are sure to meet someone with a story, either of sadness, or joy. And you will always find them being grateful for something.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many. Musically, I’d like to thank Good Tone Studio for the major support, My long time friend and musical artist who pushed me to even start music, by the name of Cojo. Edward Roberts who help mentor me along the way. My partner and best friend, Roger. And my mother! I love you! As far as my business, The Highest Form, I would love to give major thanks to my team and everyone who supports The Highest Form!♥️
