We had the good fortune of connecting with Lucila Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lucila, what role has risk played in your life or career?

Risk-taking has always been an important part of my journey, both personally and professionally. The decision to leave everything I was familiar with in Argentina and start a new chapter in Miami was without a doubt one of the most significant risks I’ve taken in my career. It entailed entering an entirely new market, creating a client base from scratch, and establishing my brand in a competitive environment.

Going through and discovering the complexities of a different cultural and business environment required a proactive approach to risk-taking. This meant that I needed to explore uncharted territory, experiment with nel approaches, and be willing to learn from both successes and failures. Each decision was fraught with uncertainty, but these risks provided opportunities for creativity and growth.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Allula is a business that stands as a culmination of passion, creativity, and relentless determination. As a designer, I strive to create spaces that not only reflect the unique personalities and lifestyles of my clients but also evoke a sense of harmony and serenity. What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional design with a timeless style combining elegance and simplicity. I take immense pride in the journey that has led me to where I am today. It has been anything but easy. The decision to relocate from Argentina to Miami was a leap of faith, fraught with uncertainties and challenges. Building a client base from scratch in a new market required perseverance and resilience. I had to navigate unfamiliar territory, adapt to cultural nuances, and establish my brand amidst tough competition.
Overcoming these challenges required a lot of strategic thinking, unwavering dedication, and a willingness to learn from both my successes and failures. I sought out opportunities for advancement, honed my skills, and developed meaningful relationships within the industry.

Throughout my journey, I have learned invaluable lessons. I’ve learned the value of staying true to my vision, accepting change, and never compromising quality. Every project has taught me something new, shaped my approach, and helped me refine my craft.

What I want the world to know about Allula is that it’s a brand that embodies authenticity, creativity, and a deep-rooted passion for design. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
During their stay in Miami I would make sure to show them around the more popular neighborhoods including the Design District, Miami Beach, and Brickell. For a more specific day itinerary, I would start the day by having coffee in Brickell and then head for a tour of the vibrant neighborhood of Wynwood, where our showroom is conveniently located. We would then walk around to see the murals and head over to Coconut Grove for a delicious lunch in one of the many restaurants there. After lunch, we would drive over to Islamorada to spend the rest of the afternoon and enjoy a scenic sunset.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely, I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my husband and children, who have been the cornerstone of my journey. Their unconditional support, love, and understanding have been instrumental in my pursuit of a career in design. In the early years, when the demands of balancing motherhood and professional aspirations seemed daunting, their encouragement never wavered. As a woman and a mother, societal expectations often overshadow career ambitions, but their belief in me allowed me to pursue my passion without compromise.
