We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalia Ojeda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natalia, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?

I want to leave behind the memory of a woman who was real, genuine, for better or worse.   My legacy will be a lesson of how I learned to accept life as it’s presented. I want people to remember me for my kind heart, humbleness, curiosity, and adventurous spirit.

The legacy I want to leave will hopefully contribute to people’s lives long after I’m gone. Will inspire them to practice compassion towards themselves and others, to take risks and travel the world, to experience different cultures and expand the mind. To get out of their comfort zone and inspire them to experience this beautiful earth and everything that it has to offer. I want people to remember me for being adaptable, spontaneous, and fearless.

This life is so short, and I do not want to ever look back at the moments that I’ve lived without a full heart. I want to inspire my community with a legacy of how I have learned from my own mistakes and live every moment intentionally. That the single most important thing is to be committed to my personal development so I can be of service to others and make a positive impact on those around me. I want people to remember me for my resilience but also my softness. At the end, I hope that those who knew me will affirm my legacy, with a profound sense of love and warmth in their heart.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I am a Personal Stylist and Shopper. I work with women to achieve their image goals by providing advice and selecting different looks based on their lifestyle and needs. Essentially. I help women avoid the overwhelming pressure of getting dressed by creating a functional wardrobe that makes them feel confident and empowered.

As a Latina I am very proud of my culture, as a Stylist I can share that with my clients by introducing them to Latin American brands. I am a big supporter of less known and smaller, Latin American brands and I think it’s important to step outside of big names in the fashion industry and advocate for brands that are doing amazing work.

I didn’t have any experience in fashion prior to starting my career in the industry. I actually started as an assistant cleaning up the bathrooms, taking out the trash, and cleaning up after the stylists – but I had a vision and a lot of drive. I was also very hungry to grow. A lot of my learning took place when I was an assistant. I observed and listened acutely to stylist interactions with their clients, I educated myself about jewelry and fashion, and immersed myself in the community to build my social skills and confidence.

Having the exposure to new groups, incorporating my need to grow my professional circle and give back to my community by participating in philanthropic causes, is one of the best ways for me to keep busy and also find personal fulfillment.

An important lesson I learned along the way is that natural innate talents can outmaneuver years of experience. Experience has nothing to do with capabilities and when we are in our natural state doing what comes easy to us we’re unstoppable. (Thank you Ashley Stahl).

Busy for me – is always growing, learning and expanding my horizons, open to all possibilities and seizing the moment.

I’m a simple girl with big dreams.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Okay so the first thing we would do is catch the sunrise in Palm Beach, then grab an açaí bowl for breakfast at Celis Produce. A quick stop at the iconic Colony Hotel is a must for a photo op. I love thrifting so I would take them to my favorite spots- World Thrift, Community Thrift, and I love City Girl consignment. The Norton Museum is fun to spend a few hours in. For lunch, I would grab a quick sandwich or salad at Aioli Bakery. There’s an amazing trail next to the intercostal called the Palm Beach trail that is great for walking and checking out some of the beautiful Palm Beach mansions. For dinner, Buccan is amazing!!
