We had the good fortune of connecting with Leslie Marenco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leslie, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite quote is from Steve Jobs who said: “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.”

For me, in my unique journey in the fiercely competitive field of law, it’s about creating a legacy that is truly mine, an authentic expression of who I am. Since discovering this inspirational quote from Steve Jobs, I embraced it as my guiding mantra.

Trusting my instincts and resisting the pressure to conform, I not only founded my law firm but built my work ethic around these values. I understand that the legal industry thrives on innovation and visionary thinking, and I take these ideals to heart. They have become the foundation of my entrepreneurial spirit, allowing me to realize my ambitious dreams.

I know that the road to achievement is often paved with challenges, but I face them head-on, fueled by the same determination and resilience that inspired Steve Jobs.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Starting a business, especially one that you are determined to make successful, is one of the toughest endeavors anyone can undertake. It’s not easy, and it’s not meant to be. Going to law school, that’s not hard. Working for someone, that’s not hard. Entrepreneurship is a constant test of one’s ego. It requires relentless self-assessment and a willingness to acknowledge both strengths and limitations.

Throughout my journey, I’ve learned that honesty with myself is paramount. The more transparent I am about what I can and cannot do, the better equipped I am to navigate the challenges that come my way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
While I may not be the most socially active person due to the demands of running a business, I do enjoy the opportunity to explore Miami when the occasion arises. If my best friend were visiting for a week-long trip, I’d aim to show her the lesser-known gems of the city, providing a unique and authentic experience beyond the typical tourist destinations.

We’d start our day at a cozy Cuban cafe, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere while savoring delicious pastries and strong coffee to fuel our adventures. From there, the day would unfold spontaneously – perhaps a visit to a lesser-known museum, followed by a leisurely boat ride, or simply basking in the sun at a secluded beach away from the hustle and bustle.

One of my favorite pastimes is engaging in meaningful conversations over a meal, so I would take my friend to a charming restaurant on Miracle Mile, where we can enjoy good food and even better company.

Miami is a city bursting with diversity and excitement, offering endless opportunities for discovery. Rather than sticking to a rigid itinerary, I believe in embracing the spontaneity of the moment and being open to whatever experiences come our way.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Building and running a law firm requires a collaborative effort, and I owe a great deal of gratitude to the incredible team of lawyers and business owners who have accompanied me every step of the way. Their dedication, expertise, and unwavering support have been instrumental in navigating not only the complexities of the legal world but also business challenges. My colleagues have been invaluable mentors and coaches, offering guidance, insights, and encouragement when needed most. Their collective wisdom and experience have not only shaped my journey but have also contributed significantly to the success of our firm.

Moreover, I must acknowledge the importance of networking and forming meaningful connections within the legal community. Establishing a robust team of professionals who are willing to share knowledge and resources has been pivotal in our growth and development as a firm.
