Meet Gaiya | Multi-disciplinary Channeling Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gaiya and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gaiya, how do you think about risk?
Risk and my relationship with the term without it staying as a cloud of concept over my head is a beautiful way to introduce the rabbit hole that is my mind hive. As I’m now beginning to humanize risk and what it means to me in my human experience; I trace my lineage. By nature, I like to explore the roots and shine light upon when I first met with risk. I immediately access my ancestry and feel the flush of gratitude for their relationship to risk and the disposition in their confrontation with it during an experience as grand as migrating. Defining risk as being the ability to take an action while holding hands with fear. However, through this process I indulge into my curiosity and bring it to my present asking; what is my piece with risk? What is my responsibility here?
How did my ancestors live risk throughout time, and how’d it mold their day to day? I ask if it all led to being a gesture we disowned in order to preserve a false sense of safety built through extreme survival. The power and liberation of consistently taking risks is one factor that I feel confirms the evolution and reveals pathways of transformation for those who come after me. Risk being a skill that builds and sustains self-love. Risk being on a moment-to-moment basis, an opportunity to reconnect to your power and choice. A gesture as simple and/or complex as being your most authentic self no matter what room you enter. I believe risk propels and supports our divine guidance.

Gaiya unveils the journey of a woman unfolding herself through art and what is manifested when true to a channel of transmitting energy with the intention to create a space for intimacy in connection. Following a theory of creating something out of nothing, Gaiya is a reminder that its dark when you’re in the soil, till eventually you sprout.
I am beyond excited to release Gaiya’s sonic debut. An album of 8 songs called “son7”. Fully written in Spanish, honoring my mother tongue. While exposing myself around topics such as resistance to receiving, deceptions I can’t deal with, and the importance of opening up to love in life. The album is built on a mix of original beats and YouTube beats. A true expression of my realist confrontation with my artistry. For the first time I didn’t limit my experience by focusing on what I didn’t have, instead I just used my resources and wrote my heart out. I lately describe it like the album is “Youtube beats and strong pen game”. These are my best songs yet, my truest stories, and definitely a sprout of what’s to come. No. Nothing has been easy. Grateful? Absolutely! It’s all written!
My greatest lesson at the moment is the importance of health and the real wealth it holds, which enlaces with the importance of sustainability. More than ever, I am clear about the fact that I am here to make art that is sustainable, because I see longevity in that. I envision myself aging gracefully, making timeless songs, and sharing my story as a gift, Gaiya is a gift.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
With no hesitation I can ensure most if not all of the week would consist of the ocean and delicious food and fruits. Also one of my favorite things to do is host! I would host them in my home with a very detailed stay, with tons of care and small details to make them feel cozy! Id take them to the neighborhood I grew up in called Little Havana. I have a list of signature places Id take them because my goal is always to make it as natural as a local would feel. My list is… El Rinconcito, El Rey De La Fritas, 100 Montaditos, El Sanguich, just to name a few. The special part about some of these places is also the feeling of culture and community you get to access. If they’re here on a Saturday Id take them to the fresh market where I get the most delicious and freshest fruit. At some point Id also take them to get a massage at a location near my house in north Miami that I simply know how to get there but don’t know the name ( you know what I mean? ). This being a huge love language for me! I LOVE A MASSAGE. Lastly, to sum up Id take them thrifting, select some pieces I feel reminds me of them and that would be a really special week for me and my best friend. Quality time always being my main focus.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shout out is to my family, my angels, my guides, Gaia, and God.
