We had the good fortune of connecting with Susy Abreu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Susy, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
I absolutely do! “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 This Bible verse has helped me face the challenges that being an entrepreneur can bring. In the slow seasons, it keeps me going! When we are working on a challenging or big project ahead of us, this Word is all the motivation I need!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Susy’s Soirées started as Getty Go-To Girl and “for fun” when I was still a teacher almost six years ago.

As the business started to grow, we rebranded and eventually I left teaching to pursue event planning and styling full time. It was THE BEST decision (as much as I love teaching and little ones). It’s a dream to wake up every day to do what you love.

What sets us apart from the rest is our BIG passion for making special occasions for our clients stress free, unique, beautiful and unforgettable! We customize every event to meet our clients’ visions and budgets. We strongly believe that every event can be beautiful and personalized with unmatched attention to detail. We pride ourselves in going above and beyond to makr our clients’ visions come to life while exceeding their expectations one event at a time. This and our commitment to provide exceptional service are what makes our events different from the rest. This has allowed us to grow exponentially through word of mouth. We are thankful for our clients who keep coming back and who refer us to their friends and family. Social media has also been a great tool in helping us get the word out about our business. It’s a great way to show the world what we do!

It hasn’t always been easy, but with God by our side and our amazing staff and team we have pushed through, and I couldn’t be happier with how far we’ve come. I can’t wait to see what more great things the future holds for us. We have learned that together we can overcome the obstacles that being an entrepreneur sometimes brings and succeed. That’s the beauty of teamwork and faith!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A perfect day in Miami would start with brunch with an ocean view followed by a trip on a yacht by the bay. Next, would love to do some shopping in the Design District followed by lunch in Wynwood. We’d end the night with a tour of the Wynwood Walls, a bar crawl, and a late night dinner at Versailles in Little Havana. Nothing better than ending a Miami Night at this Cuban staple.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have so many to thank for my successes. On a personal level, I’m so grateful for my husband and business partner. He supports me endlessly and works very hard to make every event possible. Likewise, I’m thankful for my daughters Katrina and Kassie and my nephew Angel for all the behind the scenes work they put forth. I’m blessed to work with my incredible family.

On a business level I thank all of my vendors! Without them not one of my events would be possible. I appreciate Erika from Miami Party rentals and Decor, the team at Divine Sweets, Marlene from Lemar Events, Ainara from Ainara Visuals, and Lorenys from Florabelle. I’m grateful for so many others.
