We had the good fortune of connecting with Litty Willie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Litty, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born and raised in the South Bronx in New York City. I moved to Homestead, Miami in 2003, during my freshman year of high school. It wasn’t easy to adjust to life in Homestead at that time, as people were more segregated than they are today in the south. I didn’t fit into any specific category – I wasn’t African American, I didn’t speak Spanish, I wasn’t white American, I didn’t play sports, and being from New York, people in Miami didn’t seem to like me much. However, because of my diverse upbringing, I was always around different cultures and nationalities, so I could blend in almost everywhere with everyone.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a journalist who started off podcasting in hopes of getting my little brother’s music heard. We would drink, talk about urban hip-hop facts, discuss weekly topics, and entertain trends and events. Later, we began to interview rappers and other guests, ranging from football coaches to business owners. After my brother moved out of state, I continued the podcast, taking it on tour and performing episodes in front of live audiences of up to 150 guests. This experience helped me transition more into the field of journalism, where I focus on sharing people’s stories and making them relatable to viewers.

What sets me apart from others in my field is my genuine engagement with my guests. I take the time to deeply understand their history in order to provide the best experience and to show their viewers, fans, or potential customers their real and best side. I genuinely care for my guests, do my homework, and engage with them in the most sincere way.

I am most proud and excited about my evolution as a journalist and my ability to command any room I am in with my genuine character and charisma. I believe I got to where I am today by staying true to myself in all my interactions and endeavors. I am a man of my word, I don’t make promises I can’t keep, and I prioritize respect for other people’s feelings and business.

In the entertainment industry, it can be challenging to stay genuine, but if you are naturally genuine, it comes easily. The biggest lesson I’ve learned on my journey is to not expect anything from anyone. People will come and go, but your true friends and supporters will always stand by you.

I want the world to know that The Litty Show is a genuine platform. While it may not have the highest numbers, it’s because my numbers aren’t artificially inflated. The audience I reach is real and genuinely supports and relates to the interviews.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have friends who often visit Miami. The first place I would take them is Wynwood, where they can explore different spots to hang out. After that, I would show them the drinking scene in Key West and the Keys. Even though South Beach isn’t what it used to be, it’s still a must-see for tourists. I would also look for local events and pop-ups to give them the full Miami experience. and lastly one of my favorite spots TACOS & TATTOOS

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m incredibly grateful to so many people and situations for contributing to my success. First and foremost, I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my mother, who always supported and encouraged me to pursue my passion for podcasting, drawing from her own experience as a radio DJ. My brother “Buddy” was not only my co-host but also my partner in starting our podcasting journey. Robi Joe has been an indispensable part of my team, serving as my brother, production manager, camera professional, videographer, and so much more, playing a crucial role in the success of my show. I’m truly thankful to 24hourhiphop.com and their team for providing me with my first studio opportunity, as well as to The Litty Team, MixmastersMiami & DJ Haze, and Strong Arm Studios for their unwavering support and opportunities. MyMIxtapez played a pivotal role in giving me my first deal and helping me tour podcasts around the country, for which I’m incredibly grateful. I’m also indebted to all my guests who have generously granted me interviews, as well as the co-hosts and podcasters I’ve had the privilege to collaborate with, especially those from my small city, Homestead, who have provided me with invaluable support. Lastly, I want to express my deepest thanks to my true family and friends who have believed in me from the very beginning, and to my children, whose unwavering support has meant the world to me. And DJ EFN from Drink Champs who is one of my biggest inspirations.
