We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorenzo Morris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lorenzo, how do you think about risk?
Risks open up new doors! Ive taken strategic risks throughout my life and career, (key word “strategic) dumb risks can come with consequences and we want to avoid those. Putting more thought and planning into your risks increase success!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Id describe my music as progressive and New Age. I like to think my raps are more on the conscious side, with a hint of pop culture and nerd core elements, wrapped up in a New Age sound. My music is made for the world and is something the likes of which have not been exposed to before for sure, its challenging. I get the most excited about projects to come. I think of new ideas and concepts daily, i really enjoy the process it fuels me. I can honestly say i got here today mostly due to the true passion i have for making musical arts and having them reach others as well as peers in the scene that have helped me get to this point in various ways. This might be weird but by default i consider anything i overcome as easy, but there were definitely some challenges along the way. Some important lessons Ive learned on this journey is “Patience”, “Detachment”, and “Humility”. I am a Ronin and Hip-Hop Evangelist with no master that walks this earth, my brand is my personal journey that hones in and depicts the Good and the Bad in Life as well as the challenges most face.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
i would take them to events posted weekly on the @alwayslunes Instagram page
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A lot more than a little credit is definitely due to the Creative scene in my area in its entirety. Im from Broward/Miami-Dade area and honestly if it wasn’t for every single other creative and others that support us, my passion would just kind of begin and end with me. When i first started making music in 2019 all i was focused on was creating works that i could enjoy, but over the years of witness how i can connect with others thru my works, it just gave me all new incentive and drive to take it farther.
