We had the good fortune of connecting with Hildemaro Alvarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hildemaro, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I would say that, in my case, the need to create my own production company was more of a natural outcome of my journey in music. Let me explain: I began as a musician, a pianist, and I built my career as a jazz soloist while simultaneously studying orchestration and audio engineering. I grew up in Venezuela, a country with an incredibly eclectic musical landscape where you can immerse yourself in jazz, symphonic classical music, and tropical rhythms. All of this enriched me deeply.
My connection to the piano and the knowledge I gained in these other areas led me to join the bands and orchestras of several renowned artists. Thanks to my experience with the piano, I was able to explore the possibilities of creating orchestrations across different musical genres, and I also discovered the fascinating world of audio mixing. Over time, this opened doors for me to direct musical projects and help other artists bring their ideas to life.
I believe that every experience from my early days as a musician led me to feel the need to take on the creative processes of various artists myself. That’s why I decided to start a company that could offer an integrated vision—not only musical but also audiovisual and artistic development. Today, as a pianist, music producer, and mixing engineer, I can say that my journey has allowed me to build a space where artists find everything they need to grow and express their art to the fullest.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Of course, I’d love to share more about my journey and what makes my art special. I believe what truly sets me apart is my holistic approach and deep love for music in all its forms. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing music from multiple perspectives: as a pianist, an arranger, a producer, and a mixing engineer. Each role has allowed me to understand music in a comprehensive way, from its melodic and harmonic essence to its technical structure, giving me the ability to bring a well-rounded vision to every project.
I’m especially proud of having worked with artists I deeply admire and of being able to contribute to their creative visions. Not only is it rewarding to help others bring their dreams to life, but it has also allowed me to grow and learn from each project. Creating a space where artists feel free to explore and express their ideas is something that excites me deeply and gives me a profound sense of purpose.
Getting to where I am today was not easy. Music is a path that requires a lot of dedication and sacrifice, and I’ve faced many challenges, especially when I began my career in Venezuela—a country with a vibrant cultural environment but also significant difficulties. However, these challenges taught me to persevere and adapt. Each obstacle reminded me of the importance of passion, self-belief, and staying true to my original purpose, which is to share something genuine and valuable through music.
Looking back, the most important lessons have been resilience, humility to keep learning, and the ability to work as part of a team. Over the years, I’ve learned that music is not just about talent or technical skill; it’s a language that connects, inspires, and transforms. And that’s the essence of my brand and my story: offering a space where every project is approached with authenticity and dedication.
I want the world to know that my work goes beyond producing songs or directing an orchestra; my commitment is to provide each artist with a holistic experience, helping them connect with their own essence and bring their message to the audience in a genuine way. My story is one of someone who loves what they do deeply and, despite the challenges, has found a way to turn that passion into a space where others can shine too.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Miami and Florida, in general, are fascinating, with a perfect blend of vibrant nightlife, paradise-like beaches, and unique cultural experiences. I would definitely take my friend to enjoy South Beach and the art deco style of Ocean Drive, followed by a visit to the eclectic Wynwood to see its murals and street art. We’d explore the Design District, with its galleries and exclusive boutiques like Swan and KYU, showcasing the best of local fashion and cuisine.
For an outdoor adventure, an airboat ride through the majestic Everglades is a must, followed by a trip to the Florida Keys to experience nature at its finest. There, we could enjoy fresh seafood at the Lorelei Cabana Bar, an ideal spot to catch the sunset. I’d also include a stop at Versailles on Calle Ocho for an authentic Cuban experience and a getaway to the magical theme parks of Universal Studios and Disney World in Orlando.
Miami is also home to magnificent museums and theaters, and if it’s a close friend, it might even coincide with a recording session in my studio as I work with the artists I’m producing. Watching them in action would be a unique, interesting, and fun experience that would add a special touch to their visit. Miami offers an endless array of places to eat, drink, and experience the best of art and culture all in one place.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without a doubt, the first thing I want to do is express my profound gratitude to my teachers, who generously and wholeheartedly shared their knowledge and experience with me. I feel immensely grateful to my teacher Bruna Monestirolli, from the Cadenza Conservatory in Italy, and María Eugenia Atilano, from my beloved Arsnova. I also have deep admiration for my mentors Gerry Weill and Carlos Eduardo Arellano. Additionally, the Venezuelan symphony orchestra movement was a fundamental foundation in my training, offering me an invaluable opportunity to grow surrounded by talent, discipline, and a passion for music.
I cannot fail to mention all the artists who gave me the privilege of being part of their projects. Working with the singer-songwriter Yordano Di Marzo and the “Gentleman of Salsa” Gilberto Santa Rosa, for instance, provided me with invaluable experiences. Other amazing artists, such as Karina, Luis Fernando Borjas, Edward Mena, Ricardo Malfatti, Marta Gómez, Eleazar Mora, the Venezuelan Symphony Orchestra, the Bolívar Philharmonic Orchestra, Interactive Line Strings Section, Chino y Nacho, 123 Andrés, Ilan Chester, María Teresa Chacín, Mariaca Semprún, Gabriela Cartulano, Samy Hawk, Ingrid Rosario, Irazú, Maricarmen, Las Payasitas Nifu Nifa, Christian Sebastía, Cris Gornés, Daniella Mass, Jeremías Lawson, Yaami Urbina, David Capiello, Aivy, Luis De La Llave, and José Luis Quintana “Changuito,” among many others, trusted me not only as a musician but also to bring their creative visions and dreams to life. Without them, my journey would have been very different. Each experience with them has shaped and enriched me deeply, and I am grateful for every opportunity I’ve had to share moments with all of them.
