We had the good fortune of connecting with Malik Griffith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Malik, how does your business help the community?
With That Feel Records being an independent record label, we pave the way for people to express themselves. On a community level, we help people be able to express their creativity fully. With our organic music studio, we shape artists soundscape and careers.
That Feel Records helps the world with being community oriented to the fullest extent. Collaborations breed connections and endless possibilities. Collective consciousness is our game and to be able to effect the world on that level is a blessing. With the music we release, we tap into the souls and nostalgia of people. Culture is a big stable for us and assisting people with their journey is a everything we aspire to do.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My artistry comes from my universal intelligence, my nostalgia, the media and material I pay attention to. As a musician, I study the legends, and practice ALOT. maybe too much for my own good. In the last 6 years my life has been about progression as a man, traveling, and music.
I believe what sets me apart from others is my abstract approach,
I’m an individual and I take pride in that.
Life is full of obstacles and tribulation, challenges arise all the time but I always remember I’m blessed and I have a mission. With the support system I have, I’m never alone. So I’m grateful to always be in a space to be able to overcome anything comes in my path.
The world will come to know myself as a master producer. That Feel Records will be become a powerhouse record label. Helping Artist tell their story and live their truth. In due time, time will tell our story.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
That’s interesting, we’d definitely stay in the Icon down in Brickell. I love that place and it’s right in the heart of the city of Miami. Most definitely make a couple EPs during just stay, record diggin and calling the homies to hang out and make new music is the foundation.
Boats/Jetskis are abundant so more than likely doing that on one of the days.
Good eats is VERY important. Haha
Head to shallowside for a patty and a coco bread for the homegrown meal.
Gotta couple regular spots like BeinChido, a Mexican hotspot in Plantation.
Al Salam with the crazy falafel wrap.
Sybils, they have Guyanese cuisine for your soul.
Then Bombay Darbar for the Indian delight and Thai Tea.
Other than that, making music and showing love to the family in Florida would be ideal week.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give big blessing to everyone in That Feel Records, my family; Moms, Pops, all my brothers and sisters. Aunties and Uncs, and my grandmother Anna.
Shoutout to Ant, the Producer, Donny Marvo, and Beloveddd. They helped me along this music journey so far and I’ve been nothing but grateful to have these immaculate human beings in my life.
