Hi Chontelle, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“Don’t be afraid of takings risks. There is only one life and I believe that an unfulfilled life is a life not lived “

This quote means a lot to me because encapsulates my mentality. Despite all the challenges going on in this crazy world, we have a responsibility to enjoy our lives and an obligation to live in alignment with our purpose. We have to remain driven, want to excel It might sound cliche but living to the fullest something that many of do not get a chance to do until it’s too late.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I would like to consider myself as a cereal creative. I get bored very easily and it takes a lot to keep me mentally engaged. It actually deeply affects my mental health when I get bored so it is imperative for me to have multiple facets of creativity through which I can express myself. I am a graphic designer, make up artist , fashionista , content creator and influencer , from the idyllic nation of Guyana.

The core message and narrative behind my work is freedom. I am the definition of a free spirit and I do whatever I want, whenever I want and that liberality is something I want to share with the world. Caribbean women are put in so many myopic boxes with ridiculous expectations around what we should or should not be and I enjoy decimating every one of those stereotypes.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When I am in Miami , these are my go to spots :
I absolutely love Wynwood walls, it’s like an outdoor museum of street art.
I’m a big foodie, so I’m into checking out new restaurants. Few of my favorite spots include:

Casa Neos
Casadonna
Casa Tua
Flemming

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The core fundamental motivation for me was and will always be family. I come from a small, close knit family and that dynamic created a spirit of perseverance and determination for us to motivate each other to be the best at what we do. Having an older sister only a few years older than me, set an example of what gracefulness and incredible work ethics can do for an individual and those are qualities I always aspired to emulate.

I am a product of love and my parents are also definitely deserving of a shoutout. They provided me with a constantly affirming environment, that never made me never doubt myself and my confidence creatively comes from that foundation set for me. They also have strong work ethics and gave my sister and I everything we needed to achieve in this crazy life.
