We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Nash and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I am a very artsy and fancy kinda gal. I love to go look and explore new ideas, new places and pieces I can find around whatever I’m doing or whatever city I’m in, get the newest magazines, find the coolest intricate and eclectic things or art pieces and take pics of them and show them around to my friends and family. It has been in my soul and body since a very young age!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love to create and have a good time getting into the nitty gritty of it all. I create art in all of my projects in life! Whether it be music to fashion to singing or even writing, I enjoy it all. I make the most of every single situation good or bad and create it into some sort of “Art piece “ idea, no matter big or small, sad or funny. I like to give out to others and share my story my tales, by lessons that I’ve learned over the years, I even share my pain And past pain to others, where many people just choose to hold that in to personal terms. A lesson I’ve learned is to not take anything too seriously in life and really get into your passion the best way you can, and explore every thing, listen to others because they need that. Also, you never know when you will get another chance to talk to someone, go to some new place or take that extra chance. Every thing is in the right moment so create, create create. If it isn’t perfect that is fine, try it again!! Things don’t come to you immediately or fast, it is a long process so learn to go with it and flow with it as I like to say! Things change every day, but they don’t have to change for the worst.. know that hard days are part of the entire process. This is why I choose art because it is ever changing, you can look at art from ten years ago to today and wow what a drastic insane cool difference you can easily see. It’s amazing if you think about it. I over come challenge by pushing through and knowing each day is different just like the art you see, just like the new clothes you put on the following morning. Get up and enjoy the flow of change like a beautiful art piece. I also do hair and love to see hair in its purest form bl from naturally growing longer and making someone feel great, to a fresh blonde color pop that a client has never done before and it’s blown away by the results of the art on her own body. It’s amazing! Life is endless possibilities and change.. just move with it like the wind.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For me. I would love to take them to a day in the life of me during my favorite moments. I would start with a nice walk in the morning, with a stretch. Then, get up and get a nice snack with a smoothie and take in all the areas around, the little streets, a row of boutique shops and take a bunch of photos together, finding the nearest and coziest places around along with a eccentric kind of area to look at the random shots and art we may find along the way. It’s an interesting experience and journey not knowing what it will ever find! Places I have been cool are Salt Lake City, New York!. I love small towns as well my home town in saline Michigan is quaint and small town home town feel with all the feels and fun magic you can find. I’d also go for a lake walk or beach walk followed by an old museum or the zoo and hang with the awesome nature and animals. We can grab a healthy salad on the main strip and then finish it off with an ice cream cone or two ! A different trip entirely going could be a ski trip and that is fun and cozy as well. I love to chat it up by a fire and a hot chocolate is my favorite drink of all time. We would have a blast and I’m an expert, excellent tour guide I’ve heard!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Hmm I’d have to say my good artist friend who promotes and manages other artists who’s given me multiple and cool helpful hints and ideas based on his job, along the way. Dedicated to you! He’s cool 😎
