We had the good fortune of connecting with Tenecia Sproull and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tenecia, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011, and while under treatments I tried different home remedies to help with my recovery and comfort. Following my recovery, I was contacted by individuals that were diagnosed and wanted advice in reference to issues they were experiencing. I begin making hope wellness baskets and these baskets have turned into a movement today. This movement birthed “The Pink Queen Foundation” a nonprofit est. 2016. The #1 mission of The Pink Queen Foundation is to make a personal connection with cancer survivors that are currently under treatments. We assist with medical-copays, living expenses, and connect cancer survivors with others survivors for support. This is what makes our “Pink Unique”.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a 21 year full-time employee with The Palm Beach County Sheriff Office, current position “Staff Inspector”. Outside of my work hours professionally, I focus on my passion which is The Pink Queen Foundation.  I want the world to know that you are never too young or old to receive a cancer diagnosis.  Again, I was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 37. Through my own personal journey, I have been able to educate, provide emotional, and financial support to cancer survivors that are under treatments. I have also learned that without a test in life, there is no testimony. It is important that society is aware that 1 and 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Men are impacted as well approximately 1 and 885 are diagnosed.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I will start with traveling up and down my native state of Florida. There is so much history, and diversity in this city. We would eat all types of food, as South Florida is full of diversity and known as the island of paradise because of the beautiful beaches and Palm Trees, We would begin in KeyWest and travel all the way up the coast, stopping in Miami Beach, Orlando, DayTona, Tampa and ending in Pensecola.  If time permits we would visit as many cities we could within that week.
