We had the good fortune of connecting with Yesenia “didi” Reyes-perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yesenia “Didi”, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson that we have learned through our career is that people want to do business with people, not with your business.

Being honest, providing ethical services and being in constant communication with your staff and clients are key to creating and maintaining success. We are not looking to be an overnight success, we are playing the long game. It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I was an independent contractor of Kids Chat Therapy from 2014 – 2024 serving as a speech language pathologist and clinical director when in 2024 my husband and I had the opportunity to purchase the business from the previous owners. Our private clinic is a pillar in the pediatric speech therapy world. Our clinic has been servicing the community of Miami and Miami-Dade County charter schools since 2008 and the transition to purchase the clinic and continue the legacy was a long time wish for me. In this new season and relaunch of Kids Chat Therapy, our goal is to expand and build on the foundation that was set before us with excellence to reach and provide services to all those in need.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love trying out new coffee spots around the city with my favorite being Tinta y Cafe in Coral Gables or Panther Coffee. On Sundays, definitely visiting our church (VOUS Church). Our belief is that God leads the way in everything that we do. From our business, the way we are raising our children, and the influence we want to have in our social circles.

I enjoy exploring new parks/playgrounds and outdoor areas with my husband and kids. Brunch at Greenstreet Cafe and ice cream at Salt & Straw in the Grove are a must!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The story of Kids Chat Therapy is a monument to the faithfulness of our God. KCT is truly a Jesus story and all the glory goes to Him.

Secondly, we are so grateful for the Montagner family and the opportunity they gave us to purchase KCT. They walked so that we could run.
