Meet Michael Pancier | Photographer, Musician, and Attorney

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Pancier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’m an artist at heart; a musician and a photographer. However, it is through my practice of law, that allows me the freedom to travel and to pursue my artistic endeavors as well. I don’t do art for the money but for the joy.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My main business is as a labor and employment attorney. My offices are in Pembroke Pines, but I handle cases throughout the state.

For the last 16 years I’ve had my own firm which I prefer to working for big firms because I have more freedom to help those that I believe merit it, and it gives me the freedom to also pursue my artistic endeavors.

On the side, I am constantly taking photographs, processing photographs, and I also play in a band called Lou’s Voodoo Kings. I am keyboardist, guitarist, and vocalist.

I sell my work primarily to publishers and folks who see my prints online. Ultimately, I’d like to do the photography full time, but that would be after I stop practicing law.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well this would depend on the time of year and which friends. If it’s friends who are into nature and photography, I would take them to the Everglades and the Keys to photograph the unique treasures we have here.

If we’re talking dining/drinking; there are a lot of places to visit; though I prefer to go to Fort Lauderdale as Miami has gotten really bad traffic and parking wise. But I will make sure they visit Little Havana of course.

My favorite food places in the 305, has to be Chef Adrienne’s and Finka. Fabulous eats.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Well my artistic talents were inherited. My mother was an amazing pianist and musician who was one of the lucky ones who got to pursue her talents and made music her career for the entirety of her adult life.

I got into photography as a kid, then left it for many years until my son was born and then dissatisfied with poor quality of photos I was getting from the portable cameras of the day, decided to invest in a good camera and I started shooting again.

I got into nature and wildlife photography at first and later have expanded into travel photography and portraiture and fine art photography.
