Meet Valeria Guerrero | Art Therapist & Marketer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Valeria Guerrero and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Valeria, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Honestly, it all came from intuition. Once I quieted the voices of family, friends, society- I could hear my own. And that voice kept telling me: there’s more for you.
From age 15 to 26, I worked under people who didn’t allow me to fully be myself. It wasn’t just about the job- it was the environment.
I was constantly micromanaged, treated like a machine, and denied basic empathy.
If I got sick, I was met with suspicion. Just breathing too loud felt like I was doing something wrong. That kind of environment was slowly dulling my spirit.
As an artist I always knew I was meant to create. Maybe if I had experienced a healthier workplace, I would’ve stayed longer- but I’m grateful for the contrast I experienced in jobs because it made me want to GET OUT.
If I had a comfortable job it would have been more difficult to leave. Deep down, my soul would’ve still nudged me toward something bigger. Toward my own path. But maybe it would have taken longer.
In November 2023, I had a panic attack at work – something completely out of character for me. My body was screaming no more.
After that, I told myself I’d leave by January 2024… but God had other plans.
The very next day, I was let go. It didn’t make much sense on paper, but I didn’t question it. I knew it was aligned.
I’m an artist and art therapist. I got certified while still working full-time, not because of a specific plan or logic but just because my intuition told me to.
I didn’t want to pressure my creativity to make money right away, so I sold my car to give myself space to figure things out.
At the same time, I started learning marketing and copywriting. I took a course, knowing this skill would support both myself and my art.
I began offering it as a service while continuing to host art therapy sessions and events.
That was the beginning of my business. I didn’t have a full plan- I just had trust. And that trust keeps guiding me. I still don’t have it all figured out, but I know everything is unfolding exactly as it should.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart is using my own unique magic- and my mission is : LET YOUR MAGIC OUT.
That mission flows through everything I do, not just in my art therapy sessions, but in how I live.
I believe we all carry divine magic within us. But because of past experiences, self-doubt, or the fear of being judged, many of us don’t feel safe enough to let that magic out.
I know this from personal experience. For too long, I was told to dim my light, to keep my magic quiet. To not have too loud of emotions, to not dress in my glittery sparkly self, to not share my life on socials etc. etc.
And when I finally let go of those outside voices, I experienced what I believe we’re all meant to feel: freedom, play, and possibility.
My art is whimsical, fairy-like, and deeply intentional. Each piece is created with a specific energy. For example, I created Muni the Money Fairy in the energy of abundance- she’s meant to bring prosperity into any space she’s placed in.
In my art therapy sessions, the focus isn’t on making a “perfect” piece- it’s about feeling safe enough to let go and reconnect with joy, imagination, and inner magic. I guide participants through creative experiences using canvases, hand-held mirrors, or magical objects like seashells, gems, and beads.
The process is intuitive, playful, feminine and deeply healing.
Was the path easy? Yes and no.
The decision to follow this calling felt natural- things kept unfolding that guided me: moving to Miami, leaving the corporate world, finding aligned collaborations. But the journey itself hasn’t always a pretty picture. Starting a business forces healing and growth.
It called me to believe in myself and be courageous in my decisions which is NOT EASY.
But everything I work through is meant for me to share and share these experiences with others who are similar situations to learn from.
And just because I’ve allowed myself to let my magic out doesn’t mean I’m done growing or have it all figured out. It’s a practice- a daily choice.
I continue to return to what I teach: to let my magic out, over and over again.
I want the world to know that life can be magical- and it’s okay if it doesn’t feel that way right now.
We all come from pure divine light, and the contrast we face as humans is what shapes us into the unique beings we’re meant to be. When we begin to heal from that contrast, our light becomes even more powerful- and entirely our own.
My brand like I stated before is about providing a safe space and cultivating creativity to allow others to give themselves permission to LET THEIR MAGIC OUT.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It’s funny this question is being asked because I’ve actually had visitors all throughout March- my sister, my cousin, and one of my best friends all came to visit at different times.
When someone visits me, I love taking them through a “day in the life.” We usually start the day with something grounding – watching the sunrise, going on a walk, and meditating.
I also practice salsa dancing, pilates, yoga, and boxing (not claiming to be an expert in any of them!), but I love introducing my guests to whatever I’m into at the moment. It keeps things playful and alive- and Miami is full of active, inspiring people.
For food, we usually bounce between cafes and cozy bakeries. Most of my friends and I love healthy food, so some of our go-to spots are Créma, Pura Vida, Rosetta Bakery, Açaí Miami, and Under the Mango Tree. The bakery cafés especially feel like a little sweet treat.
A beach day is always a must- either in South Beach or Key Biscayne. I’ll usually bring all my art supplies and guide them through an art therapy session in between enjoying the ocean and sunbathe.
It’s such a beautiful way to share my practice with my loved ones.
And honestly, just doing these things naturally leads to meeting people. Miami is so lively- there’s always someone out rollerblading, dancing, or creating something.
My friends from the Midwest always tell me how refreshing it is to be in a place where strangers talk to you and everyone feels so open.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The number one book I always recommend is The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer. It’s not about business strategies or how to build influence- it’s a complete shift in perspective.
Honestly, whenever someone asks me what kind of problem it helps with, I just say EVERYTHING.
That book taught me that life is silly- not in a dismissive way, but in a freeing way. It helped me stop taking everything so seriously, and that gave me the space to be who I actually want to be.
It taught me to accept the present moment exactly as it is- not as a form of resignation, but as a gateway to possibility. From that place of acceptance, I was able to move forward with clarity instead of being stuck in the weight of the past.
It reminded me that life is always unfolding, and that I can watch it with curiosity instead of fear- like observing a movie. It brought me back to gratitude, gave me freedom, and showed me how to move forward with peace.
In fact, just talking about it now makes me want to reread it again.
