Meet Ivana De Armas

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Ivana De Armas again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Ivana, always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
My name is Ivana De Armas, an artist originally from Serbia, now rooted in the vibrant city of Miami. Since our last interview, my journey has deepened in profound ways. I earned my Master’s degree in art from the Faculty of Arts in Belgrade—a milestone that has enriched my perspective and creative voice.
I’ve also had the privilege of becoming a U.S. citizen, a step that has broadened my horizons and strengthened my connection to this diverse and inspiring community. Along the way, I’ve showcased my work through several solo and group exhibitions, each one a chance to share pieces of my soul with the world.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of this journey has been using my art to give back, donating works to causes close to my heart. For me, art is not just a personal expression—it’s a bridge that connects, heals, and inspires change

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
I want to be remembered, above all, as an artist—a vessel for creativity that speaks to the soul. Beyond that, I hope to be known as a loving partner,a good friend, daughter, and sister. My deepest desire is to leave behind art that awakens something profound in others, reminding them that life, in all its imperfections, is beautiful.
We live in a world obsessed with appearances and conformity, where authenticity is often lost in the noise of trends and facades. But true art calls us back to ourselves. It’s not just decoration—it’s a mirror to the soul, a bridge to self-discovery. I believe art has the power to bypass the superficial and touch the raw, unspoken parts of our being, encouraging us to embrace our uniqueness without fear or pretense.
For me, creating began as a personal journey, a therapy to explore the endless layers of my own soul. But art is never meant to be kept—it longs to be shared. This is why I’m drawn to public works like murals, accessible to everyone. You never know whose life a single piece of art might shift, whose heart it might open.
Life is fleeting, and so much of it is wasted in distraction. I urge people to pause, to create—not to impress, but to connect with themselves. Creativity is a necessity; it reminds us we are more than the surface of things. In a world fixated on the physical, art keeps us tethered to what is real within. Kindness, gratitude, and authenticity—these are the marks I hope my life and my art will leave behind.

What are you most excited about in the coming year?
Life is beautifully unpredictable, and I’m looking forward to embracing all it has to offer in the coming year. I’m excited to create more public art—murals and pieces for shared spaces like lobbies—that can inspire and connect people in unexpected ways.
On a personal level, I’m eager to travel, to immerse myself in the world’s endless beauty and let those experiences shape my perspective and creativity. I’m also planning to explore new avenues by launching a clothing line, channeling my artistic vision into wearable expressions. Most of all, I’m excited to meet extraordinary people along the way, each interaction offering new insights and connections.
This year feels like an open canvas, and I’m ready to paint it with bold, meaningful strokes.
