We had the good fortune of connecting with Crissy Tookes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Crissy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I started Event Bash Babes, I really wanted to create something that blended fun, creativity, and community. I saw a gap in the way events were being done especially for people who wanted that luxury or IG worthy vibe without losing authenticity. My thought process was, “How can we bring people together, give them an unforgettable experience, and still keep it cute, elevated, and on brand?” It started as a passion for planning and aesthetics, but it quickly grew into something bigger once I realized how much people craved connection, good vibes, and a space to just celebrate life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career with Event Bash Babes has been a journey rooted in creativity, connection, and consistency. What sets us apart is our ability to turn ordinary spaces into curated experiences that feel, fun, and unforgettable. We don’t just throw events we create moments that people talk about long after the party’s over.
I’m most proud of the way we’ve built a community. EBB isn’t just a business; it’s a vibe, a movement, and a safe space for women to celebrate themselves and each other. Seeing people show up and feel seen, beautiful, and hyped up at our events that’s everything to me.
Getting here wasn’t easy. I started with a vision, limited resources, and a lot of late nights. There were times I questioned if it would all come together. But I leaned on my faith, my support system, and my belief that creating joy was worth every sacrifice.
Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned are to trust your instincts, don’t wait for perfect timing, and never underestimate the power of showing up authentically.
What I want the world to know about me and Event Bash Babes is this: we’re more than events. We’re about celebrating life, elevating moments, and empowering women to step into the spotlight on their own terms. This is just the beginning.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d kick things off with a welcome dinner at Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen because nothing says “you’ve arrived” like island vibes, flavorful food, and strong cocktails. The energy there is unmatched, and the music always sets the tone for a fun night.

Throughout the week, we’d hit all the musts:

Brunch at Victory or Strawberry Moon
Shopping in the Design District or Lincoln Road
Beach day at SoBe, of course with a cooler, speaker, and matching swimsuits
A night out in Wynwood or Brickell (depending on the mood Wynwood for a lit scene, Brickell for upscale vibes)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My journey wouldn’t be what it is without the people who’ve poured into me along the way. First and foremost, I have to shout out my sisters and close friends, they’ve been my biggest supporters, hyping me up when I needed confidence, grounding me when I felt overwhelmed, and always reminding me of my purpose.
I also want to give love to my Event Bash Babes team every single person who’s worked beside me, believed in the vision, and helped bring it to life. it’s the sisterhood, the energy, and the passion behind what we do that makes it special.
Lastly, I have to recognize every woman who’s ever shown up, supported, or even reposted something EBB related. Every little bit of encouragement has added up to something major. This isn’t a solo journey it’s been powered by love, trust, and collaboration.
