Meet Santiago Ferrero | DJ & Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Santiago Ferrero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Santiago, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I always had a love for music and have been playing instruments since I was little. I still play guitar and i always wanted to learn how to produce music. When I started DJing I got bored from playing other popular music and started making my own music to DJ. I fell in love with making music and makes DJing amazing when you see everyone dancing to your music and seeing people enjoy the music you made.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a DJ & Producer from Miami Florida who has a distinct sound and can mix your favorite songs with beats you never heard before. I love to keep the crowd engaged and tell a story through my sets. Im most excited and proud about my recent shows and gigs, i also love making music myself and gaining a connection with followes on my instagram @ferrmusik. A lesson I learned along the way is to not care about what other people think about you. Because no matter what you do people always have something to say. So surround yourself with people who have the same vision as you and support what you do. I want the world to know that you should never give up or care what people think about you. And if you see me DJ we can connect with music which is a great feeling

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would take them to one of the shows Im playing at and show them what I do. We would eat at restaurants that are only special in miami and hangout in design district or brickell. In my opinion the most fun and interesting places are places you have never been to before. But I think you should check out skinny louie in Wynwood Miami which is a great burger place. And check out a great gym that is opening soon “Gratitude Gym”

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate everything to my parents who support me everyday and helped me start my journey. I started DJing after my mom was throwing a party and her friend said , “hey you should get a DJ? Why don’t you get on of your kids to DJ?” So I thought about it then went to go buy a small beginner DJ board and It was my first time DJing and I was DJing at a party. Im sure the mixes werent good because It was my first time. But what stood out to me is that I didn’t want to stop the whole night and I ended up djing for 7 hours the whole night. Which didn’t feel tiring at all and I enjoyed every second. After that I started practicing everyday and got more opportunities to DJ
