We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenn Canniff and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenn, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
My business (The Confitdence Coach) was born out of my own healing and growth journey. I spent years chasing what I thought “fit” was supposed to look like — constantly comparing myself to the version society idolized. But even when I was smaller, I didn’t always feel confident. And when my body changed, so did my relationship with myself.

I learned firsthand that there isn’t one body type that defines fitness or health. True wellness is so much deeper — it’s physical, emotional, and mental. I had to strip away all the outside noise and expectations and learn to love my most naked self — not just in the mirror, but in my mind and heart.

That journey changed everything. It taught me that confidence doesn’t come from a number on a scale — it comes from choosing to show up for yourself over and over again. And that’s what I want to give other women.

I created my business to redefine what strength, beauty, and health actually look like. I want to inspire women — from young girls to grown women — to embrace their own version of fit, to stop hiding, and to step fully into their power. I didn’t want to just build a coaching business — I wanted to build a movement of conFITdence. One that’s about lifestyle, longevity, and loving yourself deeply, no matter what stage of life you’re in.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career as The ConFITdence Coach has been anything but linear—and I’m proud of that. What sets me apart is that I don’t just help women get fit—I help them feel whole. I focus on reshaping more than just the body. My coaching blends fitness, mindset, and emotional wellness to build true, lasting confidence. I don’t believe in quick fixes or chasing a number on the scale. I believe in redefining what “healthy” and “fit” actually look and feel like—mentally, emotionally, and physically.

I’ve walked through my own struggles with body image, toxic relationships, burnout, food guilt, and emotional healing. There were seasons where I was heavier due to stress, and others where I was barely eating, still trying to smile through the pain. I’ve lived in multiple body types and fought hard to find peace in each one. But through it all, I’ve learned how to love my most naked self—inside and out—and I want every woman to know that kind of freedom and self-worth.

Getting to where I am professionally wasn’t easy. I had moments of doubt, imposter syndrome, and feeling like I didn’t belong in the wellness space because I didn’t look a certain way or follow a “perfect” path. But I turned those doubts into fuel. I kept showing up, kept learning, and kept healing. I built a business from my heart—and now I get to help other women rewrite their stories too.

What I want the world to know is this: You don’t need to change who you are to be healthy, happy, or confident. You don’t need to shrink yourself—physically or emotionally—to be worthy. My brand is built on the belief that confidence is something you build from the inside out, and every woman deserves to feel powerful in her skin, her body, and her story.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since I live in Fort Lauderdale, anytime friends come to visit, I make it my mission to show them just how special this area is. Everyone talks about Miami—and don’t get me wrong, we’ll definitely make a trip down there—but Fort Lauderdale has this vibrant, laid-back charm that people don’t expect and always end up loving.

We’d start our days with some movement and sunshine—paddleboarding through the canals or out to the ocean, or rollerblading and biking through Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. It’s the perfect mix of nature and fun right by the beach.

Late mornings would mean brunch at Cafe Bastillo (a must), followed by beach time or exploring local shops and hidden gems throughout the city.

Evenings? That’s when the vibe really shifts. We’d grab cocktails with an ocean view at Nube Rooftop, check out a local speakeasy or comedy show, and definitely find a rooftop with live music or salsa dancing—because dancing under the stars just hits different.

And of course, no visit is complete without heading into Miami to see the Wynwood Walls and dive into the art, culture, and food scene. Between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, there’s no shortage of amazing experiences—everything from coastal adventure to unforgettable nightlife.

It’s the kind of trip that feeds your soul, fills your cup, and leaves you glowing from the inside out.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My journey wouldn’t be what it is without a few pivotal sources of support and inspiration. First, the women in my community — the clients I’ve coached, the ones who’ve trusted me with their growth, and the women who continue to show up and inspire others. They deserve the biggest shoutout. Their resilience, vulnerability, and transformations constantly remind me why I do what I do. Watching their confidence evolve fuels me every single day.

My faith has also been a huge part of my journey. My relationship with God has kept me grounded and reminded me of my purpose, especially during the times when things felt heavy or unclear. He’s been my anchor, my strength, and my light.

And honestly, I have to thank the past version of me — the girl who didn’t give up. The one who kept showing up when it was hard, uncomfortable, and messy. She fought hard to become the woman I am today, and I’ll always be grateful for her.
