We had the good fortune of connecting with Farah Saleh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Farah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As a third-generation entrepreneur, I grew up in a household where entrepreneurship was the norm. It was never a question of if, but how I’d take that path.

After spending 70+ hour weeks at firms during tax season, it became clear I was being paid a fraction of my value, especially in a field facing such a talent shortage. So I made a decision to fully invest in myself for just six months to see where it would lead me to. That leap changed everything, and I’ve never looked back.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I run a virtual tax resolution practice—a specialized field dedicated to helping individuals and businesses resolve complex IRS and state tax issues. It’s a niche most CPAs and tax professionals avoid, largely because it requires direct negotiation with one of the most powerful collection agencies in the world: the IRS.

My journey began at a firm where I was mentored by an expert in IRS negotiations. Working on real cases early on, I quickly developed both a passion and a talent for the work. That experience gave me the foundation and confidence to eventually branch out and launch my own firm.

The path hasn’t been easy. It’s taken unwavering discipline, countless sacrifices, and a lot of delayed gratification. The uncertainty, especially in the early stages, was overwhelming at times. But with every challenge, I learned to lean into self-trust. I reminded myself that others had done this before and so could I. That mindset became my anchor: everything is learnable, and no goal is out of reach when you trust yourself, especially when things feel like they’re falling apart.

I’m still building and still learning every single day.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spots in the city are Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, South Pointe Park, Wynwood Arts district, Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club, & Mila.

One of my favorite places to check out is Little Havana. There’s so much culture there and it’s such a fun vibe. I love salsa dancing at Ball & Chain.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m deeply grateful to everyone who’s supported me on this journey: my incredible family & friends, my colleagues, and above all, God.

A special thank you to my mentor, Mark Kohler. Mark believed in me before I believed in myself. He gave me the confidence to step into the public eye, even when it felt intimidating—especially in front of seasoned and often critical tax professionals. He opened the door for me to speak on his stages, trusted me to lead webinars in his community, and introduced me to the world in a way that forever changed my trajectory.
